Aleks vs. Buentello in the works for Affliction: Banned

Affliction made waves last month when it announced a July 19 show, to be headlined by Pride FC's last heavyweight champion, Fedor Emelianenko, against two-time UFC title-holder Tim Sylvia. Affliction has since signed several more fights, bringing the tally of confirmed bouts to eight:
• Fedor Emelianenko - Sylvia
• Josh Barnett - Pedro Rizzo
• Renato Sobral - Mike Whitehead
• Matt Lindland - Fabio Nascimento
Non-pay-per-view fights:
• Savant Young - Mark Hominick
• Justin Levens - Ray Lazama
• J.J. Ambrose - Patrick Speight
• Mike Pyle - Brett Cooper
Ben Rothwell, who became a star in the International Fight League before signing with Adrenaline MMA, is also scheduled to fight on the pay-per-view card, though an opponent hasn't been found yet, Affliction Vice President Tom Atencio told me Friday.
The event also reportedly includes Strikeforce heavyweight contender and UFC veteran Paul Buentello against Fedor's brother, Alexander Emelianenko. But Affliction is still waiting to get back signed contracts from them, Atencio said.

Seems like they are gonna blow their wad in their first show, they could have streched this matches out over three different events easy. There is no way they are going to make 1/5 of the money they are going to put into this. Im not going to complain too much though cause ill be there watching the Emelianenko boys own.

Paul is going DOWNNNNNN. And as for them being able to stretch the matches, it would of been smarter of them to do that.
The UFC is trying out the whole "ton of good fights on one card" thing by firing all...or well most of... their losers and wastes of space. But they have money in the bank to be able to put on those events. Affliction is gonna go down in flames. Its going to be a few good events then bankruptcy or just cutting their losses. If this event ever gets to take place that is. But whoever it is that is getting their contracts signed...the UFC sure could use him. Make him Joe Silva's assistant or something. lol.

why not do aleksander vs rothwell, it makes no sense, aleksander vs buentello is a sweet fight though, i dont see it going the distance

If Aleks can get liscensed in the states i see this being a bad night for Buentello. He will have trouble with the reach and Aleks is very quick for a dude his size. Aleks 2nd rnd ko

Card looks good.
As long as Buentello doesn't receive a "flash" K.O. a la Arlovski.
If Sylvia wins it will throw the HW rankings on its head.
Affliction enters the MMA world with a great card and more to come.

i think Aleks will smash Buentello, Paul didn't look too stellar in his last fight and he's not getting any younger
edit: before anyone lights me up for it, i checked my facts and Paul isn't nearly as old as I originally thought
