Actually, I dont think Affliction is going to be an org that has constant shows like a UFC if you will.... If anything Affliction is just doing this for publicity to sell their merchandise. Those Affliction shirts cost like 40-50 (and even up to 100-150) bucks for a T shirt that costs about 20 cents to make. After this event, If it helps sell an additional 50,000 T shirts. lol, they'll be fine.

I have a feeling this event will get atleast 50 to 100k in PPV buys. Sure it's nothing compared to the UFC, but it's atleast a few million in the bank. I also think LIVE GATE sales will do better than expected. I think Affliction is very smart for hosting this event in Anaheim. Anaheim is in Orange County which has many many MMA fans. I think it's a perfect location to host the event. It's also much cheaper to host it there, than lets say the MGM grand arena. Let's not forget merchandise sales. All in all I dont think they'd be losing that much.

The rumored card has a lot of big names which is good for the first event of a promotion but the matchups still leave a lot to be desired. On the main card which of those fights do you think is a toss-up or "could go either way"? Of course anything can happen in a fight, but I would guess that 90% would take Fedor, Barnett, Lindland, Babalu, and Aleks. No way could you say the same thing about even the next UFC, where anyone could make a strong argument for BJ or Sherk, Tito or Machida, etc.

I look forward to seeing the event and to seeing those fighters on the same card, but the matchups are not all that intriguing.

What I want to know is who knows about this fight other than hard core fans and people who visit this site? I know if I didn't come to this site I would never know that this event might take place.

Agreed 100%. This card is looking really solid.

I will be pulling for Aleks, Sobral, Barnett and Fedor of course. Props to Affliction. I hope they don't run into anymore problems.
