i have some friends that have trained with him, and their explanation of him was "he's not that great at anything, but solid all-around"
his rubber guard was wicked vs Belcher (Eddie Bravo even commented on it), who had absolutely no answer for it, i can recall when I've seen someone do so much damage from the bottom, it really took the fight out of Alan
I'm not saying he gonna win (although I will sig bet it) but to say that Bisping has a guaranteed 1st round KO is definitely extreme

I couldn't have said it any better. Bisping is their big ticket in that UK-Europe market. If they can keep him at the top without him fighting any risky opponents, they could definitely make $$$$ over in Europe, same as GSP in Canada.

Maybe so but neither Day or Belcher are anywhere near the caliber of Leben or Bisping. If they are going to crown Bisping the #1 contender soon, and they will, I would at least see him prove that he can beat some mid-tier guys, not barely scraping by the prelims guys.

I haven't seen anything spectacular out of Bisping either, and "anywhere near the caliber of Leben or Bisping" remains to be seen, i guess we'll find out soon
also, while talking about short-term replacements, we shouldn't be so picky

True but we got the Hughes-Alves and Bisping-Leben fight on short notice.
I'm just saying that when Bisping blows through this guy, I don't want to hear a bunch of people commenting on how he's dominating.
And when I was speaking of Bisping and Leben's caliber, I meant they are solid mid-tier guys, not the top of the food chain by an means. But Alan Belcher and Jason Day are prelim filling lower tier guys who are a loss away from being cut at any given time. It just seems like the UFC used Leben getting in trouble as a way to feed Bisping someone he can beat easily so they can further hype him.

I think Bisping can take it to Day on the ground, as long as he learns some Jeremy-Jitsu from Jeremy May.

What kills me is I've seen posts here praising leben for being a man and getting it handled. This is 100% without question the result of stupid decisions on his part and he deserves every bit of it.
he fucked up and got arrested. Found guilty (doesn't matter how) and is put on probation. Fuck up 1.
He applied to transfer his probation to Hawaii to train, which was rejected (and let's be honest, there's a reason it was rejected. but it doesn't matter). he ignores it and goes anyway. Fuckup 2 and probably the dumbest move I've heard of in a long time.
He gets a shot to go to UK. He already has a bench warrant out now, and it's probation violation which means no bail.
He did NOT turn himself in to man up, he found out he couldn't go to the UK with the outstanding warrant. So he attempted to slink in and hope the judge wouldn't give him what he deserved. Which didn't happen. Fuck up 3.
This really sucks. I wanted to see leben fight. I don't like the guy AT ALL but I really enjoy his fights because they're entertaining and he's got balls of steel. Also, I would be very happy to see Bisping be KTFO to temper his ego. But now that won't happen because he's going to fight someone that has no business being in that fight.
It's a lose/lose for the fans.

Agreed, also Jason has a good chin he took some solid punches from David Loiseau 2 fights ago and Belcher did land some solid shots.
This is gonna be a very interesting match-up, I am picking DAY for the upset.
