Nate Quarry To Replace Chris Leben At UFC 85?
Quote:

Last week, I was tipped off by a reliable source that Nate Quarry was being considered as a replacement for Chris Leben should his legal troubles get worse. Well, I think it's officially safe to say that Leben's problems have worsened.
MMAMania.com is reporting that Leben was sentenced today to 35 days in jail. Here are the details:
"“The Crippler” turned himself in to the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office in Portland, Oregon, on April 30 because of an old Driving Under the Influence (DUI) probation violation.
His release is set for May 27, 2008 (he gets credit for time already served), which gives him only 12 days until his scheduled showdown with Michael Bisping at UFC 85: “Bedlam” at the O2 Arena in London, England, on June 7."
So, does this mean Quarry will now step in to fight "The Count?" All signs point to yes.
Stay tuned...

I really wanted to see Leben face Bisping as I think they are more evenly matched, but I would rather see Quarry face the count especially since I think Nate is a better striker with more power. Nate can put away his track shoes and put his Sh!t kickers back on, walk to the middle of the ring & go to war with Bisping, but if it happens I predict 2nd round K.O.!!

I think this is best case replacement and IMO is just as good and just as critical of a match up in the middle weight division.
If this match up goes down, I think the winner should fight for a title shot.

I agree. Should be a very exciting fight, both fighters have excellent records and both fighters are extremely confident in their stand up. No way it would go 3 rounds, unless maybe Bisping breaks his foot, lol.

Because Nate Quarry is a such a contender? The prince of middle weight? Dude, what are you talking about? A fight for a title shot? Quarry will never get one and Bisping is not even close. He has to beat guys like Marquardt and Okami then someone like Franklin or Henderson for a shot maybe. Plus UFC wants to baby sit Bisping so they can make as much money of him as possible before throwing him to the wolves so he gets KTFO.

Much better fight than Leben/Bisping. Glad to hear it.

This is going to be a huge test for Bisping. Should be a very interesting fight and I see it being a slugfest.

I hope they make this happen. I would rather see this than the Hughes-Alves fight. I see it being a war and I have no idea who would win.

It's pretty much confirmed that Okami will be getting the next shot.
Silva has already fought and beat Franklin and Hendo and Nate.
I assume the UFC wants some fresh meat for Silva to beat up on instead of beating the same guys over and over.
Also, I don't think the winner of this fight should get a title shot.
I think the winner should get a chance to fight somebody for a title shot.

I agree that neither of these guys deserve a title shot after this fight. But I think that Quarry will be too much for Bisping. I think it will be just as good a fight as Leben/Bisping. Either one is definately going to be the test for Bisping.
