I'm not going to sit here and say that Tito made Chuck the fighter he is today but as far as how Chuck got such a big boost in popularity, that started with his monumental feud with Tito. Remember, Chuck had just got his ass handed to him at UFC 43 when he fought Tito at UFC 47. When he beat Tito, that blew Chuck up to where he is today. That feud alone established the new UFC as a premier organization. From UFC 43 to the 60's Chuck, Tito and Randy were THE DRAWS. Every 2 or 3 pay per views, these guys are the ones selling the fights. Look at UFC 50. Tito alone was the draw for that PPV. They gave him Cote to fight and people still bought it.

I think Chuck was on his way to the top regardless if he fought Tito or not and Tito knew it too, thats why he was stalling the first fight....

Chuck was a great fighter, I'm not taking anything away from that but like so many before him, Chuck when facing an elite guy stumbled forcing him to take a step back. Then they offered him the Tito fight for the # 1 contender spot and it blew his star status up.
And Tito was stalling to not fight Chuck. He wasn't under contract after he fought Ken Shamrock at UFC 40 and was in a dispute with the offer they gave him.

Damn it's too bad Tito is such a bitch. Like when you saw him on the apprentice getting super nervous about doing a little presentation, if anyone needs some Tony Robbins I think it is Tito not Chuck.
I really wanna like the guy though and he brought be into MMA + was great on TUF. I am actually betting money on him winning vs. Machida so I will be supporting him for sure but it's just too bad that he can't just get his shit together, stop whining and being a bitch and go full out MMA for 2 more years. After that he could retire and bitch all he wants, maybe get a seat on The View or something.

Are Couture x 2, Ortiz x 2, Babalu x 2, Randleman, Belfort, Silva, Horn and Bustanmante at the time not elite competition?
Name another LHW thats beat a better list of competition and won.

It's a win or go home situation for the huntington beach badboy.
And it is all about the money.
Maybe Jenna can do some more flicks per year, and get the extra cash for both of them.

I think you misunderstood me. I was talking about when Chuck first started getting his popularity, not now. I'm talking before he beat Horn (Horn beat him first), before he beat Silva, Couture, and Babalu again. I'm talking about back when Liddell was in publicity shots at Tito's side and in the background, not after he beat Tito the first time and exploded.
My point was this. Chuck was on his rise to fame beating guys like Belfort, Randleman and the like. Then he went to Pride in 03 and got beat, then he got beat by Couture. So instead of being at the VERY TOP, he was still a solid fighter without the BIG NAME recognition. When he came back off the 1st Couture loss and him and Tito started feuding and he beat Tito, that's when Chuck became a household name.

That's not cool. You insult the fighter all you want but you don't go after someone's family and friends that way. How would you like it if someone said some stupid crap about your mother, sister, girlfriend or wife that way. And last I checked, she's a retired multi-millionaire with her own empire. What's your big accomplishment?

If Tito wins he stays for sure. I think he probably stays even if he looses(even though Tito is going to win). Rumors are that Elite X is struggling a bit and I dont see them shelling out more money then the UFC to sign Tito. Even if Tito does sign with Elite X who is he going to fight outside Frank Shamrock?? Tito is just using this to get more money.
Tito wont sign with Japan cause im sure they can care less about him or his antics.
