Hughes is a definite number 2 in the WW division after GSP, in my book. I am looking forward to his next fight, and am really looking forward to finally seeing him against Serra.

A 4th fight against GSP? I can't imagine he would want to do that.....why would he want to subject himself to that again?

Dude I have been watching MMA for years, back when I was in the military in the early 90's, and I watch old fights all them time, rent when I see... I LOVE the sport, and know it pretty damn well, I am the same way with Football, and yes I research on fightfinder at times, as well as many other sites... You see researching facts prevents you from looking like a DAMN FOOL posting BS responses in a forum.

Also, If Hughes "got the living shit kicked out of him for two rounds, then why did he win, and dont start suckling BJ's bone and say BJ hurt his wittle wibs again.... The fact is BJ started strong like he always does and always has, Hughes weathered the storm, had MUCH MUCH MUCH better cardio, took over the fight, and had BJ down, had side mount, locked one arm with his legs, held the other arm with his hand, and pummeled his ass until the stoppage. THEN Hughes sits up, smiles at his corners and said " I told you so" references that BJ would gas after 2.....

Thems the fact Palma... you know, and so does everyone else on this forum, and if BJ lets this fight with Sherk get into the later rounds... he WILL be in trouble, possibly losing the fight.

I agree that Penn was winning the fight and all. But in all reality, Hughes was only in legit trouble in that fight for about 30 seconds, when Penn had that submission held on Hughes. Yea Penn was winning, but he was not beating the shit out of Hughes. I know you love Penn's man juice, and thats ok. But come on, Penn only had Hughes in danger once.

And last but not least. A WIN IS A WIN IS A WIN. Hughes WON... Penn LOST... move the fuck on, the fight was almost two years ago.

as far as Hughes being in trouble I guess you didn't catch the first 30 seconds of the fight Penn dropped him with an over-hand right and Hughes had to try and take the fight to the ground to avoid getting ko'd... Hughes was in trouble for 10 minutes... get your fucking head out of your ass.

I hear everyone saying Hughes has an ego and I don't understand that but there's a reason behind it. I think the fact that Hughes doesn't get involved in alot of the bullshit of the business and cutting every one down gives him the reputation that people think that he feels above it. He's well spoken, a Christian, a dominant athlete, and he doesn't go around talking a lot of smack and feels disrespected when someone does it to him. I think collectively, that misleads people to thinking he's a prick. I think it's misunderstood.
