Hughes...legend of the sport yes, achieved more then most fighters ever will yes, dismantled a legend in Royce Gracie yes, but douche bag YES!
i will never discredit for all Hughes has accomplished, but he's still my least favorite fighter of all time. time is slowly but surely passing him by in the sport and a majority of the up and comers at 170 would beat him IMO. and it all starts with Thiago KHTFO!
i respect the people in here who still believe in Hughes, and are fans of his...but he's still an egomaniac whose time is running out.

I think if Alves uses his kicks effectively and stuffs the take downs then he will dominate and possibly even punish Hughes. This is a sight I would find highly agreeable.

Hughes is going to show everyone why he is still a beast in this game with Alves.It's funny since he got beat by GSP that 2nd time everyone thinks Hughes is fuckin Ken Shamrock.Hughes is going to destroy Alves and he is going to destroy Serra even worse both by brutal ground and pound.Does Hughes have an ego? yes. And it's because of that ego he has made it this far.That ego is the same ego that was saying to him when he was almost down and out against Trigg "You are not losing to fucking Frank Trigg...get up." Then came back to beat his ass down and choke him out.

the talk of Hughes losing his step actually started back when he fought BJ for the second time. Hughes had nothing for BJ until he got injured and gassed. thats when the talk of Hughes losing his flare really truly began. then he dominantly lost to GSP and looked like shit against Lytle. sure he decisively won the decision but was never anywhere near finishing Lytle in that fight.
like i said before, Alves by KO!
theres at least one thing you and i agree on though, and thats that we want Leben to kill Bisping LOL

I dont' think Alves can use his kicks as effectively as he usually does. Kicks lead you more open to takedowns. I think he can still use them, but if he thinks he's going to just come out and kick the shit out of hughes (literally) he's gonna spend a lot of time on his back eating elbows.
I like Alves, but I've always loved Hughes.
