Nothing has been voted on yet. Tardes, Im have no problem with. pick ups I do. In football, there is more predictability. You know for 16 weeks there will be a game. In the draft, we are picking fighters that may fight 1 time, or 4 times. witht he umber of fighters, I don't see anyone having 24 or 15 or whatever we decide that all fight 4 times. I say we pick up or guys and we have them, injured or not. otherwise I could pick up guys that each week depending on the card. and how do we dicide who gets who after the draft is done. I think it could be a headache, especially since there is no CBSsportsline/fanball whatever to take care of eveything. trades I would be fine with though. as long as you keep set amount of fighters in each weight. so GSP for fedor would be a no-no. But GSP and Monson for Fedor and Karo would be fine.

Yeah, I understand that without a "programmed infrastructure," a waiver wire option is difficult. I guess my thinking was that if you pick-up someone who was not drafted because they have a fight this weekend, you would have to drop someone who is currently on your roster. Once you drop that fighter, they are available for anyone to pick-up.
You make a good point, and for this being the first one of it's kind, it will be improved upon each "season."

keep in mind that unlike fantasy Football, ALL the players are active. there is no setting the weekly lineup.
Maybe if a player gets hurt, then you could pick someone up and you had to keep that person even after the injured player is better. So if you drop GSP because he hurts his hand and pick up Kalib Starns, your stuick with Kalib unless he gets hurt. but no changing lineups weekly due to upcoming events. it's more of a "Best drafted Team over a year " thing than a "score the most points PERIOD thing"
and I'm all for 12 players so you can get in Doc. unless another guy doesn't want to do the year long thing
what section of the forum should we make the official draft thread in?

Well, I guess, if you're wanting to keep it out of the General Forum, you could do it in the "Video Games" forum. That's where we have the "MMArmy Discussion Thread," and this is kinda a video game.

I was thinking that or the bookie section. I think it would get moved though if we start a new thread for a game. I'll start an official "Fantasy MMA League" later in the game section though.
I'll post any rules so far and what not so we can get to voting and hopefull drafting in the next 24-48 hrs.

We should just hold the draft a specific time like they do with fantasy football or baseball. Give an advance notice so everyone is aware of things. 24 fighters sounds good to me, only reason being that unless you have Rich Clementi on your roster, fighters don't fight enough these days, especially the top guys. But 15 will do just fine I guess.

only thing with a live draft is people are all across the map. One guy was in Nova scotia (sp). That would be very hard to coordinate.

What about Chuck Norris? I'd give the edge to him since he is THE Walker, Texas Ranger!

I'm in on this. This was tried on another forum I'm on, but there weren't enough dedicated MMA fans to pull it off.
