BREAKING NEWS: June 7th Fight - Matt-hughes.com

Quote:
June 7th, in England, I fight Thiago Alves. The fight is confirmed, it will be the main event for the card. Dana just called me with the news. Chuck got hurt and couldn’t fight, so he needed a replacement and called me and I said yes. More news as I get it. No matter what happens in this fight, I’ve got Serra next. -matt

I'm very surprised... Good job Dana, should be an interesting match up if Hughes shows up hungry...

Great matchup and a preety unexpected fight... at least I never thought of these 2 fighting. But this fight is really not ppv main event worty IMO, and I think many of you here will agree with that.

I think I mentioned earlier today that Alves could be one or two fights away from a title shot. I guess if he wins this fight he will be up for a title shot as the only person to beat Hughes recently is the champ.

HORRIBLE match up for Thiago. Hughes is gonna be able to take him down and totally dominate him. Hopefully Alves is training a few months of nonstop sprawling before this one.

This isnt to bad for a free card..Id love love love to see Bisping/Leben added on as well.

Yea, if Alves wins this fight he should most defiantly get a title shot.

Yeah this is good, if Alves can sprawl good enough he will destroy Hughes, but I wanted to see Hughes man up and fight Koscheck. Koscheck has called him out so many times. Hughes said he had to build a name first, well he's got more of a name than Alves, and Hughes is fighting him now.
