I also see this fight going alot like Hughes/Lytle if Hughes wins but I don't think Hughes camp is good at all so I will go with Alves in this one. I know Hughes is a legend and deservedly so, but after his last couple of fights I just don't think he has it anymore.
Yea, Hughes camp sucks. It's only full of world champions. Fuck that.
I really like Alves and I think this fight comes down to whether or not he can stop the takedown. I dont think Hughes is stupid enough to stand and strike with him but I could be wrong. I see Hughes taking this unfortunately.
It's possible that Hughes could get caught if he tries to trade standing up, there's really no other way for Alves to win. Hughes however does for some strange ass reason seem to think he has stand up the last few years, which ofcourse he doesn't so it should be fun to watch.
if Hughes brings the fight like he used to, then i see him winning...but id love to see Thiago drive a knee right into his jaw while he goes in for a shot, KHTFO!!!
WAR ALVES

Who? He doesn't train with Militich any more. He trains with his highschool wrestling buddies in Illinois.
And you think they are going to have NOTHING to do with him training for a fight. He only left Miletich to run his own gym in Illinois. Lawler and Horn still follow him around everywhere. If you really think Hughes isn't going to get the best training possible, you're delusional. I like the Mayhem Miller picture though. The UFC needs to bring him back.
I'm not a big Hughes fan but have a lot of respect for him. I think obviously Hughes has the advantage with takedowns/ground game but if Alves can keep it on his feet Matt will be in for a bad night. Credit to both fighters for taking the fight on a short notice.
