Matt Hughes Looked Terrible?

I've see a few posts that confuse me. People saying Matt didn't look good, or that he was terrible?
BJ Penn is one of the toughest fighters in MMA. Matt was the aggressor the entire fight. The entire first round was BJ defending Matt's take down attempts. BJ landed a couple shots when they were standing, but nothing serious. The second round was the same, except Matt was on top of Bj for 3 min, then BJ took his back and Matt faught like a champ to defend. The triangle and arm bar were great moves on the part of BJ, but Matt was just about out and would have been on top if the bell hadn't rung. In the third round Matt was beating BJ in the stand up game and landed more solid punches than BJ did all night, and when it went to the ground where Matt easily took side control and dominated Bj. The only reason Matt did not end this earlier is because of the flexibility of BJ. It look him a round before he was able to take him down and get on top. Matt was in trouble for a min or two, but he dealt with it, and that's what a Champ should be able to do. Especially when you are the greatest champion of all time.

Dude get Matts testicles out of your mouth. He got schooled for two rounds period!! then he beat a gassed BJ. Props to Matt the best fighter won but to say this is just plain stupid...no offense. Matt is cool and all but he had his ass handed to him.

I'm sorry but BJ landed more than a couple shots. Matt was bloodied up and looked terrible on his feet. BJ Penn amazingly defended the take downs from Matt and when Matt finally got BJ on his back he couldn't do anything to him. BJ was able to take Matt's back and almost end the fight. The only reason Matt looked good in the third round is because BJ completely gassed going for the submission in the second. He was just standing there. The only reason Matt passes his guard and was able to end it like that was because BJ gassed. Up until that point Matt looked terrible. I'm not sure what fight you watched or maybe you love Matt so much you were blind to it, but BJ Penn was ripping Matt a new one. I give Matt props because he stuck it out and his cardio prevailed.

My favorite part was when Matt said that he wished BJ was in shape to go five rounds. Yeah right, if Penn was in shape to go five rounds Matt wouldn't be the champ anymore.

First off buddy, no need for insults. Just because you can't take the truth doesn't mean you got to get upset. You are wrong, totally and utterly wrong. How was Matt schooled? Tell me? What did Penn do? All he did was defend against Matt's takedowns. He hit him a couple times? Got him in a sub that he got out of? Tell me, right now pal. Hisflexability saved him for the most part. In the end it didn't.

yeah, to say hughes got schooled is taking it a bit far. The fight is for 5rds. Not 2. Yes bj kicked his ass for the first two, 3rd rd got owned... HE LOST!!!!

Bj landed a minimal amount of shots, of which none hurt him. Matt didn't look bad on his feet. He has some blood from a cut lip, but really you watch MMa that is not real damage at all, and by no stretch of the imagination is Bj making Matt look terrible. Matt took BJ down, Bj was on the bottom. Matt laded a few shot on Bj, nothing serious but he landed them. Matt was controlling on top for 3 min of that round and then BJ took his back and did nothing to Matt until the last 40 seconds of the round when he had the triangle and arm bar....which Matt got out of. Then you know what happened in the third round. BJ got his ass handed to him. So I don't know why you can't just admit it. It's on tape, you can't BS about something that actually happened

yeah matt looked horrible, congrats to him with his training and out lasting a gassed penn. all that fight said to me was matt dosent have a chance with GSP

What ever, I give up. It's the same shit all the time. People see what they want to see. Yeah Matt looked terrible!!!! Hate Matt all you want, it makes it fun when he proves you all wrong time and time again. GSP was my pick to beat Matt until I watched this match. Matt Hughes will take GSP out, no doubt about it.

Im sorry but maybe you need to watch that tape and count the number of shots BJ landed because it was far from minimal. Matt did not control BJ on the ground, he couldn't even pass BJ's gaurd. He got one take down on BJ and did nothing with it. Matt was hurt on his feet, you can not say Bj did no damage to him. I gave Matt his props and said his cardio won the fight for him. So maybe other than learning to watch things you need to learn to read as well. The next time you watch Matt fight, try watching his face and not his crotch and you might see some punches land. Someone of your intelligence is not worth my arguing with anymore. I gave Matt his props, I said he won, I am in no way in denial that he won. He pulled it out and congrats to him. Now shut up and don't resond to another one of my posts because I won't be responding to another one of yours.
