Matt Hughes didn't look terrible at all, BJ looked brilliant for the first two rounds without a doubt. It was a damn shame that he gassed like he did, I was shocked. He hit a brick wall and was like he got hit in the head really hard in-between rounds 2 and 3, he almost looked dazed. Honestly, I've never seen anyone gas like that. BJ is my favorite fighter and at the end of round 2 my friends and I were talking about how collected he looked, like it was just another day at the office where you looked at Hughes and Franklin was talking to him frantically wiping the blood from him face. Round 3 starts and I was just so blown away, his hands were literally at his waist and he was eating shots. I wish they would have interviewed BJ.

Hughes hit the nail on the head when he said B.J. is a spoiled rich kid who is bored. He doesn't have the drive that's why he walked the first time. He even said himself all he wanted the first time was a belt.

So maybe other than learning to watch things you need to learn to read as well. The next time you watch Matt fight, try watching his face and not his crotch and you might see some punches land. Someone of your intelligence is not worth my arguing with anymore. I gave Matt his props, I said he won, I am in no way in denial that he won. He pulled it out and congrats to him. Now shut up and don't resond to another one of my posts because I won't be responding to another one of yours.
Yeah, I've watched it three times, thanks for the suggestion. Matt wasn't hurt at all, Bj did not land a lot of punches at all. Maybe you should take your own advice. Watch it again. What did BJ do in the fight, he defended and tried subs, which didn't work. Matt was on top of BJ for 3 min in that second round. BJ tried to choke Matt but couldn't, then caught him in his legs as Matt was trying to escape. The Triangle was on Matt for about 38 seconds to be exact, and Matt was popping out of it as the round ended. How does BJ do anything to Matt when he has one leg on the ground and Matt has the other one? Because that's what happened for a good portion of the first round. Matt ran him into the cage, Matt pushed him around. Matt made all the aggressive moves in the fight. Bj tried to create subs by being very flexible and defensive. The only thing Matt didn't do was take him down. Did Bj grab at Matt, did he take him into the cage during the stand up? Nope he tried to stop Matt from taking him down. That is all BJ did, plain and simple.

Oh yeah, grow up.......why would you tell me to shut up, it's a discussion. Your wrong, it's not your fault, just something you have to get use to.

It looked staged to me, you could see Dana whisper something in Matt's ear right before GSP came in.

Matt won the fight, period. He'll take on GSP next and the winner will kill Diego Sanchez.

Dominus, I don't know what fight these guys watched. You have it absolutely right. I know I've watched it three times too.

Everyone should know that BJ is a really talented BJJ fighter, has fantastic takedown defense, and decent standup with heavy hands. Hell even Randy Couture as a heavyweight admitted he had difficulty taking down Penn and keeping him down.

Yet......
Matt held his own standing, he only took two GOOD shots in the first round and wasn't dazed by either, and Penn landed nothing in the second round.

Matt defended all sub attempts by BJJ. Don't you guys have any appreciation of what it takes to defend subs against someone like Penn?

As Dominus already stated, Matt did take Penn down and kept him there for nearly three minutes of the second round.

Penn may have had more stamina if he was fighting someone who wasn't pushing him to the limit the way Hughes was. Stuffing those takedown attempts and trying to finish multiple subs is exhausting.

You didn't see Matt pulverizing Penn, because Penn is such a worthy opponent. That doesn't mean Matt looked terrible, it just means he's having to truely defend his title, instead of getting fed cans.
