EliteXC Announces Three Shows.
Quote:
EliteXC is set for a busy next few months, which is great news for fight fans.
On April 5 Showtime will broadcast a six-bout ShoXC event called the Elite Challenger Series. The event will feature undefeated rising prospect Jared Hamman (9-0) as he takes on promising prospect Poia Suganuma (8-1) in an exciting heavyweight clash at the Table Mountain Casino in Friant, CA.
Then on May 31 EliteXC will team up with CBS to bring MMA to network television in primetime. The card will feature Kimbo Slice versus an, as yet, unnamed opponent and Robbie Lawler vs. Scott Smith.
EliteXC is planning to follow that card with a June 14th card set to air again on Showtime which will feature Jake Shields vs. Drew Fickett, J.K. Noons vs. Yves Edwards and Nick Diaz against Mushin Corbbrey.

Now lets see if Nick can test clean this time, and get his paper work done WITHOUT controversy.

CBS ran some very good commercials for their first fight night live. They did a good job with them and made it look very appealing. The exposure was tremendous too, I'm certain there were more viewers during the Elite 8 games than Spike has ever gotten for any program. It should garner a large audience for their first show. All they have to do is deliver.

I can't see this getting more viewers than Ortiz / Shamrock. I'm sure it'll get decent numbers from word-of-mouth, but I can't see my dad tuning in to see what it's all about.

Well they can still roll out Coleman, Kerr, Frye, Shamrock, Shamrock and Dos Caras Jr for Kimbo to face and if he gets through that senior circuit ok they can get Skip Hall the 63 year old MMA guy. The sky is the limit when you'll never face a guy within 5 years of his prime! They could get that fat ass cop that kicked his ass on youtube.

Thats hillarious...I am surprised that video has not been pulled or removed...he did get beat. His "posse" was flipping out when the guy took his ass down.

How many viewers did that do? I know it did really well for the specific fight, but I can see EliteXC getting a higher overall rating for all 2 hours.

I gotta say, the cards coming up seen pretty decent.
Lawler vs. Smith, Shields vs. Fickett (hopefully this time) and Noons vs. Yves.
If EliteXC/Strikeforce/etc can put on another good show or two in a row, things could really start happening for them.
