Rumble on the Rock Grand Prix Champion Jake Shields adheres to a lacto-ovo vegetarian diet, consuming dairy products and eggs. Skill, dedication and a myriad of other factors have helped Shields become a top ranked welterweight in the world; but his diet is also a key ingredient to his success as well. Shields touches on the dietary component of his regimen and gives insight from a vegetarian’s perspective.
I just stumbled across this when I was checking to see if I could start adding Lightforce to my diet (in case you weren't around for the Mac Danzig threads, I'm vegan, we're trained to be skeptical). Of course I saw Mac all over the page but then I saw Jake as well. I had absolutely no clue that Jake was a Vegetarian.
It's not news, more like one of those "did you know" threads. If you expected news and got this, sorry, I'll mail you a cheeseburger.
So... Did you know that Jake Shields is vegetarian?
Historically, people who eat meat, concur those who don't.

I lived with vegan hippies for a while, and there's a huge difference between people who are just vegan and judgmental assholes who judge [or even hate] you for eating meat.
I'm cool with people doing what they need to feel well, as long as I don't have to constantly defend my own choices.

Same thing with some religious people, really.

I agree. I just get sick of people trying to tell me what I can and can't eat. Same thing goes with tattoos, raising children, religion, etc.
My problem with hippies is a little different. It revolves around my parents and their unwillingness to allow me and my siblings to participate in simple social activities due to their own views and theories on the world.
