Default Would the best UFC fighters leaving the org. be a good thing?

If most or all of UFCs best fighters moved on to other orgs. would it be good for MMA as a whole?

Personally, I don't like Dana and would love to see all UFC's best go to Elite, even though I'm sure that wont happen, but if it did, how would you all feel?

as long as the majority of the best were in one org, i wouldnt care which org it was, but I'm not going to sit here and say that i would "love" to see all the top fighters the ufc has leave and go to elite. elite doesnt put on near as many cards as the ufc does. that would fucking suck. at least at this point it would. elite wouldnt have the money to pay all those guys. that would be a horrible idea. it may could work in the future though

It would just be the same thing almost if all the top fighters from the UFC were all under a different organization. You would have the same monopoly. Even if the UFC was to fall, all the fighters would not go to the same organization. They would all be scattered about and then would not be able to see a lot of the match ups we want to see. The UFC is very very well established right now and a lot of the other orgs are still struggling and in major debt. Some people need to just put their hate for Dana aside and look at all the good Dana and Co has done.

Right now MMA is branded all over with UFC. So as of now I'm not so sure Casual fans will follow even top fighters to other orgs. BC I mean how many "fans" really know about Elite, Strickforce, World Victory Road, or Dream. In reality a small percentage. So to answer your question no. The best thing for MMA imo is co-promotion so we can see the best fights all the time. And right now the only org not willing to do so is the UFC and obviously that sucks. I don't blame the UFC for not wanting to co-promote but I would love it if they did.

If they all ended up in the same org that could eventually put together what the UFC already has with someone in charge that is better with fighter relations than Dana sure why not. However, that is about as likely as Jessica Alba sucking my dick. Sure in a perfect world we could all wake up to puppydogs and rainbows but the UFC right now is as good as it gets and personally Im not sure if Im patient enough to wait for an org to get its shit together.

The marketing was and is great and Dana's done a lot for the sport, but he's become the Vince McMahan of MMA. He treats his fighters like shit and owns them. I think Elite, M1, and most other orgs would be more open minded to letting their fighters fight the best in other orgs. I also think MMA would be one step closer to getting one Governing Body which would be great for the sport as a whole and generate more money for fighters.

Ok first off M1 is a goddamn joke and should not be brought up in any serious org discussion until they prove differently. Secondly, I'm sure other orgs would be more willing to co-promote at first. Just like Zuffa was when they first bought the UFC. Now that we see the UFC has the vast market share in MMA they are no longer willing to do so. And I am willing to bet if one org other then the UFC where to take over the market share there position on co-promotion would change also.

I think they should stay in the UFC - it is the most advanced in terms of the way it is involved in growing the sport and creating revenue and the production is better than the smaller orgs, IMO.

This treating fighters like shit thing that you bring up. Could it be that the fighters aren't getting paid enough? Cause the only people who seem to bitch about their pay are the guys who are getting paid the most - Couture, Tito, Sylvia, and rumors of AA. Do you hear Leban bitching about his new deal that he gets 25k to show and 25k to win? No. Why? Because outside of base pay, Dana has said publicly and proved with Randy that he does treat his fighters well - IF they perform well. I forget who it was that was interviewed, but they said that Dana treats his fighters very well and stated things such as if he wasn't on a card and wanted to go see it, then the UFC would fly him and a guest out, put them up in a hotel and give them front row tickets. He even said that the tickets alone were worth $1,000 which was awesome for him.

If by treating them like shit you mean not allowing your fighters to fight people outside the UFC then again, I like to bring up if you were under contract to work for Microsoft, you wouldn't be allowed to go work part time at Apple. It just isn't going to happen.

The fighters KNOW what they are getting into when THEY SIGN their contract. The fighters have agents who explain all the terms and conditions of the contract to them. That's what agents do. If anyone could point me to an article where a low level fighter bitches and complains about being mis treated by the UFC, I will gladly eat my words. But in the last 18 months I can't recall a single fighter outside of the better paid guys complaining about how shitty it is working for the UFC.

Dana White love him or hate him has done a tremendous job with building the sport. He still is the best guy for the job as he truly cares about it more than anything else. I really wish there was more of the back story of the UFC in Chuck Liddell's book, but even he states how it is getting better and better. Hell he never complained about his paydays when he wasn't getting the big bucks. He was thrilled just to be fighting.

Its very easy for all of us "fans" to sit back and judge how poorly someone is doing at their job. But like any sport, the UFC is the top dog. College football players dream of making it pro, but sometimes have to go to the CFL or Arena Football first. And like football it seems that only the "top guys" are the ones who complain about their pay and working conditions.

I`ve been watching UFC since i was little and i am actually happy they are on top. This notion of the guys going to other organizations to further MMA as a whole is joke. MMA will grow inevitably and trust me CBS deal was 4 shows a year gimme a break.
