To the thread poster: Why the FUCK do you have to call Hong Man Choi Long Duck Dong again. It was made clear that that comes off as prejudice to many in the Asian community. I tend to debate on behalf of the UFC quite a bit. I love it. Nothing's perfect but they have made my life better by taking MMA to the mainstream and making it easier to see.

People will never like every aspect of any business, there are pros and cons but we generally tend to voice out our dissatisfaction.

UFC has done one great thing for MMA....it brought this sport into the mainstream and has got it accepted by many (not by all yet) and this was very important for (at one time) a dying sport. They're not the ones who instated the current rules, but probably deserve the biggest credit in legitimizing it as a sport instead of "human cock fighting". We get to enjoy a lot of MMA currently in North America because of what this organization has done and that part should never be overlooked.

The way I compare UFC is to the US healthcare system. The world bitches at the US healthcare system and how it exploits its own citizens but the fact is the rest of the world was able to expand its medical research from the works and results of the US healthcare and its clinical research. This is very similar in MMA as other companies are benefiting from the results produced by the UFC but are constantly bitching at the model it currently has. Just like the US healthcare system, if UFC was never there, we may never have had the consistent growth and benefits that we see now.

Don't get me wrong, I love the UFC, but we can't justly blindly accept some of their misgivings based on the what they've done for MMA. By complaining and raising a fuss at least the powers that be know that not everyone is supporting them blindly and they still have some work to do to win everyone over.
