Default Josh Koschecks response to Diego Sanchez's comments

Quote:
Koscheck may not care whom he fights, but Diego Sanchez has made it known that he'd like a rematch with the American Kickboxing Academy-trained fighter. Asked about Sanchez, Koscheck said, "I think when you lose a fight, you want it really bad. It took me two years to get a rematch with Diego, so what makes him think he wins one fight and he can step right up and get a rematch?

"I think I'm in his head,” he continued. “He's only been thinking and focusing about me for the last year. It's actually kind of nice. He's in the same shoes I was after The Ultimate Fighter. For two straight years I woke up every morning hating Diego Sanchez.

"If it makes sense and the UFC wants it and the fans want it, I'll do it, but he's going to be pissed off after the fight again because he's going to have another two years to set back and pout and cry because I'm going to kick his ass."

I think they would setup a Diego vs Koscheck fight again, especially considering Diego was sick in their last fight, but I don't think it would end much differently. I'd love to see it, I think it would be a sick fight. I think this fight is one of the reasons why Diego didn't drop down to 155lbs.

Ditto.

You can tell in the wording of Koscheck's response that he really doesn't want any part of Diego Koscheck, if he's honest with himself, knows that the guy he beat that night wasn't Diego Sanchez as we know him (i.e. not the Diego that beat the hell out of Koscheck and sent him to the hospital on oxygen). A healthy Diego is going to give him all he wants.

Then again, Koscheck can always try to lie on Diego for 15 minutes like Fitch did. Thing is, when Koscheck took Diego down at UFC 69, Diego had his back within seconds, and the bell saved Koscheck from much unpleasantness.

I think you are missing what he's saying here if you think he doesn't want any part of Diego. I hear him saying that he had to wait 2 years to get his rematch and he feels that Diego should have to stew in his loss for a couple of years like Kos did before he gets a rematch. I think Diego should have to win against another top 10 WW before getting a rematch, and looking at the list of top 10, I don't see anyone Diego being able to handle easily.

Yes, that's what he is saying...what I am saying is that he is saying that in part because he wants no part of a healthy Diego

lol. Twanky's right on this one -- its not that Kos doesn't want any part of Sanchez, its that he wants him to stew with his own ulcers for a couple of years before he gets the rematch.

And when the rematch does come around, I'm picking Koscheck again. He's just a better fighter.

I'd like to see Diego fight Marcus Davis actually. I'd like to see Kos fight Hughes or Karo next.

Exactly, I think Kos just wants him to have to wake up every morning knowing he lost and wanting that rematch like Kos did for a couple of years. I think Kos would step up and take the fight without question. Kos can be a dick but I think he's game and it said alot that he could go 3 rounds with GSP, I'd be willing to bet my house that Diego couldn't do that.

This fight could also be the reason for him to drop down, he´s going to have very hard time taking Kos down or standing up with him.
