Asked how he injured the knee, Rua responded, "I did shit. I was hurt helping a friend in the training. He was running and I held him by the waist and forced my knee." Shogun said.
Also, the former PRIDE Champion stated that he is surprised with his substitute, Rashad Evans. Despite Evans stature here in the US and his undefeated status in the octagon, the Brazilian fighter doesn't know who he is.
Rua is confident about his return to the octagon, "I'll be back likely in August."

Back to back knee injuries......not good for an explosive Muay Thai fighter. This could spell disaster for one of the greats. I wish him luck.

Yeah...his predicted total domination of the LHW division has already hit a couple of snags. I just hope this isnt an injury that keeps reoccuring. Knee injuries are a mother. Surgery in March and being back in August seems quick to me.

Just come back when that knee is healed, somebody needs to point him to Dr. James Andrews already, enough with the F'n setbacks. If it doesn't heal entirely b4 he begins training again this is never gonna end.

I just hope he takes the time necessary to let it heal so he doesn't fuck it up to the point to where he can't comeback. Shogun is one of my favorite fighters and I want him to come back strong.....but only after he's healed and the time is right. August seems too soon to me.

sucks for shogun. hes got o be losing money hand over fist with all these injuries and no fights to put in the piggy bank. to boot, the average american fans just know him as the over hyped softy who got owned by Forrest. (we all know better)
