Q: There have been some rumors going around that Fedor Emelianenko's management was shopping him around to other promotions. There have also been rumors that the relationship between Fedor's management and M-1 Global was not going very well. At any point during recent discussions, was the possibility of severing ties with Fedor ever discussed?
MC: I think in the last five months we've looked at every scenario possible. We've looked at continuing without Fedor and I'm sure Fedor has looked at working with somebody else. It's been a difficult five months but like (M-1 Chairman) Mitchell Maxwell says, anything worth doing takes time. And there's difficulty involved in that and that's what I think is happening here. I think it would have been easy to just say let's go out and do a show and then figure it out. And all of us involved said "No, no, no."
M1 is just a managment company anyways. They have one fighter, and just want to lend him out to places to fight for millions of dollars...this wont last.
Fedor was at the Slamm IV event in Holland yesterday, M-1 held several mma bouts on the card and Fedor was at the pre event press conference with Vadim etc.
I said from the start I think it's a bad concept for him to have chosen M1. They will always have a limited pool of talent to chose from even with shipping him out to other orgs. If they we're hypothetically forced to put him in the best show match possible 2morow who could they chose from?
Barnett, Monson, CroCop (sorta) and thats pretty much your lot. That barely even covers a years worth of Main Event cards.
The best solution is to have movement from both the UFC and Fedor. The UFC needs to reliquish some of the control it wanted over him and Fedor has to realise that he can't maintain being the best P4P fighter but fighting freakshows. He also just realise that the UFC is no place for his students to be showcased the whole time and that Sambo must take a back seat to his pro MMA fighter status at times.
When you fight for a living and can't get a fight with a decent payday, this is the kind of shit that happens. Finkelschmuck made his money selling M1 now it's time to take his Fedor and go home. I hope the UFC can try to work something out for a fight with him and Randy or just get him in the UFC.

If you read the whole article Monte Cox even says that they have been having trouble working with Finklestein (maybe he is just that hard to work with) and have had issues where the M1 website owned by Finklestein (not the M1 global website) has been putting up false news and announcements and there have just been been problems communcating and working together.

Finkelschmuck must have Fedor brainwashed, I just fail to believe that Fedor is that naive.

Am I the only one completely terrified at the thought of Monte Cox co-promoting with Gary Shaw? I know it has nothing to do with Fedor but that thought scares the hell out of me.
