I read a rumor that Baroni may be fighting Hendo since Hendo has been eliminated from the WWGP. That would be a good match to have on the US debut show considering both are Americans.

Blaa...Baroni irritates me. I would like to see him get his ass handed to him in a convincing fashion.

I just think it will be cool to see Fedor fight again. I wonder what kind of shape he will be in considering all he has been doing for the past 8 months is training. Will his hand be able to throw some powerful punches?

I actually hope they put Baroni on the card. Only because he is one of my wife's favorite fighters. Can't figure out why though. Then I might be able to get both.

Ninja, getting both has nothing to do with being a real mma fan. For me it comes down to economics and day to day well being. My wife likes UFC better because they give a little more history about the fighters (in english) so i have to keep her happy. that coupled with the fact I have a 16year old and an 11 year old means I don't want a 200 dollar satellite bill.

Unfortunately I have only lived in minnesota for about 2 years and other than the guys where I train (most of whom i would never hang out with) I really don't know anyone here I could split the cost with.

Ninja, getting both has nothing to do with being a real mma fan. For me it comes down to economics and day to day well being. I wasn't really talking about the people that can't afford it. Just people that feel the need to bring up the UFC vs PRIDE crap on every PRIDE or UFC thread. Everyone has their preference. The PRIDE vs UFC shit gets really old though.

*edit* Baroni WILL be on the card, so let your wife know. They just haven't found an opponent yet. Hopefully it's Hendo rather than some can.

i dont think Baroni fighting Hendo is a good decision for Pride

there will be some great ass-whippings on this card already, but marketing-wise, i think it's smarter to let Baroni KTFO somebody. let him talk shit after too. people remember Baroni, and everyone likes to see a KO. a HL reel KO will build some interest for the next show.

now Pride might just be going for a fight Hendo can easily win, but what if Baroni does like he always tries, and KO's hendo? everyone thought Chonan and Kondo would beat Baroni fairly easily, but they got caught too, despite being better fighters. why in god's green earth would you risk something like Baroni as the WW champion with the GP coming to an end?

I won't tell her til after the UFC. We pretty much always get those and this way I can get the UFC and the Pride.

By the way its not so much a matter of money as it is a matter of principle. I just can't justify in my mind spending that much for a satellite bill as much as i want to I just can't.

i am hoping for a can because then its a sure thing for me after the fight if Baroni wins!

Yeah Nastula gets some pretty tough fights, kinda like Luiz Azeredo. I really wish PRIDE would let them get back on track.
