Tyson vs. Huerta: Should it happen?
Look this to me is the "number one contender match up" with the talent the UFC has now. This poll is REGARDLESS of SHERK!!!! So... just asking- what if this fight could happen? Would we want this as fans? I say a big fat resounding "fuck yeah!". I don't want to see Nate Diaz fight Huerta for fuck's sake... no offense.
I love this fight. It's so funny that Griffin isn't even in the top ten of many top LW lists. I think that's bullshit. The guy outpunched the hell out of Tibau and stuffed his takedowns even though he outweighed him by twenty pounds. Aaaaahhh I'm not gonna get into all his fights lest I start a BS arguement. The guy is a top 10 LW and I wanna see him fight Huerta!!!
Anyone else?
Edit: This is Tyson Griffin btw.

Griffin is overrated as fuck
he hasnt convincingly beaten any of these b-level guys he has fought except that skinny English guy in his UFC debut.

Diaz vs. Griffin should happen.
i like Griffin, but Mr. Decision needs a couple of convincing wins before he should be considered for a title shot. JMO
Huerta would probably beat Tyson. since the two likely match ups for Huerta (Edgar and Florian) are already booked for fights, Huerta will probably be out for a while. plus isnt he taking time off for school anyways?

They should fight but not for a #1 contendership Edgar deserves a shot at the belt over Tyson if he beats Maynard Id like to see him vs Huerta for a title shot. IMO Griffin has been squeeking out a bunch of contrevesial descions and hasnt looked that good doing so. Id like to see Tyson vs Din after he destroys Neer

Dude you're pandering to what you think is the popular belief on this site. He beat the shit outta Tibau on the feet, AND stood the motherfucker right back up when he even got a takedown (which amounted to about three). He beat the hell out of Tavares too- I don't give a shit how many subs were thrown (AND I'M A BJJ GUY!!!) because he escaped them with ease and rained some ground and pound. And he damn sure destroyed David Lee ("that English guy"). So it was questionable whether he beat Guida... Whoopdeefuckindoo... I STILL think he should fight Huerta and THAT is ALL I was asking. Nice answer.

i was just saying what i think about Griffin
good, exciting fighter, but all the things you mentioned is why i dont think hes elite like everyone does. he not only fails to finish, but the fight is always ridiculously competitive. that should not happen with any top 10 LW fighting some of these guys.
BJ Penn, JZ, Gomi. these guys would shit on all the guys Griffin has barely beaten in split decisions.

beat the shit out of Tibau? hardly. he outpointed Tibau with strikes yes, but beat the shit out of him no. Tibau barely had a scratch on him. i was there live, the whole arena knew it...Tibau won that fight 29-28.
Tyson is very overrated, and im saying that as a fan of his. what if Maynard pulls out the upset of Edgar...what does that say about Tyson?
plus he did not beat Guida...one of the worst decisions of 2007! and Huerta finished Guida after getting his ass kicked by him. Tyson doesnt deserve the Huerta fight.
ill bet the house that Nate Diaz vs. Tyson Griffin is booked for either UFC 84 or UFC 85. watch and see.

I've been saying this should go down since Huerta beat Guida.
This would definitely be fight of the year if it did happen. I don't see why it shouldn't happen this year, even if it's not the next match-up for the two.

I have to be honest here to the point of possibly getting reamed... But I really think Tyson would destroy Gomi. He'd take him down at an unstoppable pace and Gomi would get GnP'd. Look I KNOW how good Gomi is but Gomi can't wrestle or stop a takedown (ALL TOO IMPORTANT IN THE UFC). I knew that Guida would beat the SHIT out of Huerta too, BUT luckily Huerta got that knee in.... Yes I know that's MMA blah blah blah... but give that fight to Guida 10 times- and he wins that fight AT LEAST seven outta the ten.

I and several people disagree with you. Tyson punched and front kicked (several fights before the AIRING of Boestch fight) his way to victory. Tibau had 3 takedowns with nothing to offer afterwards. Should THAT win the fight?

Combat calculus... who the fuck cares or thinks that applies?

Could be. I hope not. Griffin DESTROYS him a la Manny would've had the TUF fight continued.

The Under the 10 point must system, Tyson won the fight:
Stand-up
Ring control
Ground Defense
While Tibau did dominate him with the takedown, he managed to do absolutely nothing with them as Griffin popped back up right away nearly everytime.
