“There’s no shame in losing. I lost my first amateur wrestling match as a kid. My coach told me when I was wanting to quit, that you first have to lose before you learn how not to lose. I don’t like to lose so I have to learn not to lose in this sport…. Obviously I’m disappointed, but it was a great experience. I must have worked on defending that leglock 1,000 times maybe. I thought I was going to get out…. I’m here for as long as I can fight here. I love what I’m doing. The company has been great.”
That's a good attitude to see. Hopefully people will realize it's not Brock's fault the UFC threw so much money at him. (In a proper world, people would maybe even be happy for someone being able to earn good money on their talents.)
Brock did well; he had 2-3 solid chances to end that fight, but he got caught. The point deduction was bullshit, but that's the sort of stuff that can happen in a competetive fight; I don't hear Brock whining about it either; so it's nice to see him take a clean loss in stride.
'Sides, even on his worst day, Mir is a challenge for anyone. Almost finishing a former heavyweight champion several times in 90 seconds is pretty good for the guy's 2nd pro fight.
It's funny, the submission master Jeremy Horn got caught in something I would have expected to see Brock in.
Lesnar has nothing to be ashamed of.... Except losing me money in vBookie, LOL. I look forward to seeing him again.

That point deduction was b.s. Brock was definitely hurting Mir up until he got caught, but that's the way the sport goes. Can't wait to see him fight again.
Brock losing was probably the best thing for him. He really thought he was some kind of monster that no one could hang with. A good humbling was what he needed.
Brock will come back better and have the right attitude as well.
frank mir has argueable the best submissions of his back of any hw in the ufc. brock just got caught due to inexperience. i wasnt sure what to think of him before that fight. but his takedowns and power look amazing. once he learns more bjj defense hes gonna be a force for sure.

If he develops properly, he'll be a scary super-size-me version of Sherk. Except I think in that 90 seconds, Lesnar's come closer to finishing a fight than Sherk ever has.

No shame in losing to Mir at all, espically since Mir was training with that badass wrestler from Ohio State
Yeah, didn't Mir make some comments about seeing how wrestlers traditionally forget to move their feet and leave ankles and other break-ables open to subs? I assume that's largely a conditioned response; to maintain the power-base and sprawl when appropriate. Mir definitely hit the books for this fight and it paid off.
Nice to know your efforts weren't in vain.
