Brock Lesnar has big hands — needs 4XL gloves
Quote:
“… [Brock Lesnar] is only the second man in the history of combat sports in Nevada to wear size 4XL gloves, the other being South Korean giant Choi Hong-man, who is 7-3 and 367 pounds.”
Dave Meltzer from Yahoo!Sports.com reports on the gigantic size of Brock Lesnar (6′3″ 265+ pounds) and his chances of defeating Frank Mir at UFC 81: “Breaking Point” tonight. According to the report, Lesnar will pocket $450,000 with a win ($250,00 to show, $200,000 to win). That’s more guaranteed — and promised — money than any other fighter on the card. Lesnar has just one professional mixed martial arts fight to his credit

If Brock also focuse in Boxing (besides Wrestling)...he would be a very dangerous striker.
P.S. How the hell Brock has a higher salary, compared to other Premier UFC Fighters?

Yeah, the salary discrepancy makes me want to see him leave the arena in a broken and dismantled heap.

Lol Yea, Brock hasn't been in the UFC or even in MMA for many years...it's not fair for the premier fighters like Ortiz, Quinton, Shogun, Couture and others.

Gotta agree that it does suck for the other established fighters earning less.
But to be fair, UFC is a business and they know damn well that Brock will bring in viewers in someway, viewers = money.
You gotta remember that educated fans are the minority and it's the general public that really push up the numbers. Brock with his past will bring the people across. Atleast thats what Zuffa is hoping, the way they look at it if the PPV numbers are great even if he loses it was money well spent.

Simple economics. Lesnar will draw more PPV buyers to this card than anyone else. Follow the money. Whoever attracts the most viewers will earn the most money, regardless of their skill or experience level.

money
I disagree that it is "unfair" for Lesnar to earn more.
If this Lesnar experiment goes well tonight, there will be tens of thousands of WWE fans that become UFC fans overnight. That will mean more PPV buys for future fights and more money for other fighters.
Lesnar being responsible for bringing in new fans and tons of money means that he SHOULD earn more mney than the other guys.
If another guy is the best fighter in the world, but is boring with no personalty and people dont pay to watch him, he shouldnt earn much.
IF UFC was smart they would recruit players from the NFL, NHL, etc.. to become MMA fighters in order to convert more fan bases.

if brock brings in the views/ppv buys, it won't be so bad. but if this ppv sells about the same as others, the ufc made a bad move, me thinks.

You were going so well up to the last line...
I do agree that if you earn ufc more money you should earn more money... its simple business.
If one guy brings 100,000 more ppv buys he should get paid more than the guy who brings 10 ppv buys regardless of skill level, thats just the way it is.
However you do have to keep the actuall sport in mind, Brock is there for a reason, he can really fight and brings a new fanbase.
Its not all about ppv buys, hell if it was it wouldnt be ufc itd be celebrity death match, Britney Vs Christina ect....
I agree its about gaining more viewers and more money but its the ligitimacy of the sport that takes priority
