Default Cote vs McFedries ***SPOILER***

What an awesome fight!

I am a fan of Cote, but was a little scared when I heard he was fighting McFedries. There is so much talk about how hard McFedries hits, and how his training partners are scared to spar with him because of this. I guess I got caught up in his hype and forgot just how hard Cote hits. Thankfully, Cote has a solid chin, otherwise he would have most certainly gotten knocked out like so many of McFedries' previous matchups.

McFedries looked really good as the fight got underway. It was looking to be as if the hype was going to be backed up. However, Cote stuck to his guns and knocked him out, and rather nicely, I might add. This was an important win for Cote - hopefully this will reignite his presence in the UFC.

This was my favorite fight of the night.

Drew sucks, all he throws is haymakers what makes Drew so good anyways? Cote won that fight before it started.

Cote would of took that fight anywhere standing or on the ground, McFedries had a punchers chance in that fight, but Cote was coming in with much more experience.

I was just hoping for a good fight and wasn't really partial to who won. That was the case until mcfed taunted Cote by tapping his chin from that moment on I was praying Cote would catch him and literally jumped out my seat when he did.

I was a bit scared for Cote myself admittedly, glad it turnout the way it did. I'm still in awe at the slow motion replay of Cote's uppercut, just awesome to behold. WHAM! right on the jaw as you see Drew's face twist.

I'm a huge Cote fight. But when I heard about McFredries' mother's murder, I couldn't believe he still took the fight.

I know how the MFS guys are really tight-knit and Pat really cares for his guys, so I'm sure they put a lot of concern into the decision not to cancel the fight.

Regardless, I think McFredries deserves a ton of respect for stepping up for a fight with that kind of shit on his mind.

And I'm thankful that that was the first thing Cote mentioned in the post-fight interview. Lot of class.

Rep'd.

I totally agree. With his mom being murdered only a few weeks ago and having that staph infection last year, this had to be the toughest fight for him. I hope he bounces back, but I lost a little sympathy when he started taunting in the middle of the fight.

I think Kurt Pellegrino did it a lot worse in his fight with Alberto Crane at the same event. I don't like seeing that, but McFredries must've known that his best chance was to draw Cote into a slug fest.

As an MMA fighter, you're right, but he's still scary as hell in terms of power and striking.

Hell, he KO'd Alessio Sakara, who's a pro boxer...not implying that Sakara is at the top of the MMA heap, but that's a pretty big feather in the cap, especially moving up a weight class like McFed did.
