Coleman deserves this very much. So what if he didn't evolve. The sport had to evolve because of HIM. He practically INVENTED the GNP if you really think about it.

I'd throw Big John in the mix too.
I personally can't wait to see Tito get inducted.

Bas Rutten should be next. he's one of the faces of MMA.

I can give you that. I'll even throw Tank Abbott in there as deserving. MANY and I mean MANY people tuned in to see what Tank was going to do next. Maybe not for his skills or what he "did for the sport" but for bringing it into the mainstream. Then throw in Frye etc.

Good for Coleman he deserves it and from the interviews and shit we have done with him, he seems like a hell of a nice guy too.

Tank is an odd character in that regard. He was a legend of the old UFCs.

Good move by the UFC, Coleman is a pioneer without a doubt.

On a related note, I wouldn't be surprised to see a return to the UFC in the works, if only for a showcase fight against someone like McCully or what have you. Two HOFers have already come back and fought, why not Coleman? He's still got it in him.

I know I'm going to get "Hammered" for this but I would say he's not too far away from Randy Couture... Stylistically and if you look at Randy's career up until his retirement ... I AM NOT SAYING COLEMAN HAS ACHIEVED WHAT RANDY HAS, but Randy has fought the same way for years.

I would actually love to see Coleman vs Couture!
I would tend to disagree with that. Obviously randy has acheived much more than coleman has but aside from that I believe randy has many more tools than the hammer does. They started out much the same with wrestling backgrounds but I believe randy has evolved far beyond coleman. I certainly would be interested to watch them fight though.

I hate Mark Coleman, but I'm not that much of an assclown to not acknowledge he 100% deserves this induction. He is one of the pioneers, and has achieved so much in his career. Good for him.

You enjoy the assclown reference Lemur?
