Coleman does deserve this honor and I think its worth ordering that PPV just to see this happen as its going to be a great moment.....oh and the fight card aint to shabby either lol.

Hopefully they dont drug test the HOF inductees.
J/K Coleman will always be a beast of a man.

i'm not a fan of Coleman, but you have to give it to him. he's a legend and helped with the evolution of the takedown in MMA.

I've always been a Coleman fan, and I was fortunate enough to meet him at UFC 68. He was completely shit faced by the way, or should I say "hammered," so it'll be cool to be there when he gets inducted. IMO this is long over due anyways.

Wow, I'm kind of shocked that they chose to go back and honor one of the SEG era fighters instead of moving straight to guys like Pat Militech.

Now that Coleman will be in, the next set of inductees should be:

-Maurice Smith
-Oleg Taktarov
-Don Frye

Anyways, I am glad they are recognizing him as they should since he won the first ever UFC Heavyweight title.
My apologies to The Hammer. I suppose I came off a bit assholish. Its just hard for me to respect a guy whos fight game hasnt changed at all since he started. He is exactly the same fighter now as he was when Petey Williams kicked him in the dome. Oh well.

I'm going to hang my ass out on a limb here and wait for the backlash but...

I know I'm going to get "Hammered" for this but I would say he's not too far away from Randy Couture... Stylistically and if you look at Randy's career up until his retirement ... I AM NOT SAYING COLEMAN HAS ACHIEVED WHAT RANDY HAS, but Randy has fought the same way for years.

I would actually love to see Coleman vs Couture!

This is partly true

The only difference is that Randy has adjusted his style and come up with game plans that allow him to enforce his strengths during the fight.

Mark Coleman has not..

Randy's skill, stamina, strength, etc has continued to grow.

Coleman's has not.

Most fighters do not completely change their fighting style. Most of the time, they create good defenses to having their will imposed on so that they can do their thing (covering up holes).

Randy has improved his game, Coleman never really did.

So what you are saying is kind of right, but only in a certain way.

Coleman can still be competitive in the UFC HW division. His wrestling skills are greater than the "wrestlers" that are just taking guys down and beating them (justin mccully, jake o'brien). I mean two of the UFC's better heavyweights were just taken down at will in their fights and lost to slightly above average collegiate wrestlers (kongo, hearing both lost). So Coleman would still be able to do well, would never be a champ, but a great gatekeeper.
