Has anyone heard Dana/UFC talk about starting a SHW division before?

I have been a proponent of about the same, i this 205-235, 235-265. I mean as good of a HW people like cro cop and vera are, they are just mismatched when they fight someone like lesnar or that new HW they just acquired. In no other division would you see someone fighting someone who is 40 lbs heavier after cutting and think it was a fair fight.

The heavyweight fights, for the sake of arguement, have been the most boring fights for years. The HW division in the UFC lacks any sort of depth, and if you let fat freaks like Sapp onto cards, you'd hear more boos than ever.

Good discussion. I posted this late last night right before I went to bed. I like the idea of splitting the division quite a bit. I think that gets to the spirit of what I am thinking about. I do kind of enjoy seeing the freakshows though I have to admit. Choi is crack up to watch, I can't help but enjoy that. The major point is that the fighters should be matched up better. I also want lighter divisions like BW a SLW. I agree that the lightweights are some of the best fights.

i hope the ufc doesnt consider this....leave the freakshow fights between the overweight fatties to the smaller organizations...the only new divison id like to see in the ufc is one that would fit between MW and LHW dont know if its plausible or how it would work..but SHW and FW have places in other orgs but not the ufc
