That highkick KO'd and busted open Wanderlei. That was a thing of beauty. I'm a little disappointed that Mirko was talking about quitting MMA if he didn't win, because as much as I like the guy, I'm not sure he'll beat Fedor the next time they meet.

i think wanderlei just got to sloppy at the end, cro cop picked his shots more carefully, one of wanderlei's faults is he gets to emotional in the ring i think. before the high kick cro cop hit him with 2 rib kicks, the third one he faked, and u can see wanderlei go to block the low kick to the ribs, but cro cop chose his head instead of his ribs. I think if wanderlei wants to fight chuck liddell, he'll have to be more patient then that. Cro Cop just seems way to calm in the ring, compared to anyone ive ever seen in the ring/octagon. Cro Cop is the man right now.

That fight right there showed the difference between a wild puncher and a true boxing technician. Those guys with the wild punches may accumilate a ton of knockouts against guys that aren't very good strikers but when they bump heads with a really skilled technician their flaws are exposed. Chuck would beat Wand in a fight beacuse Wand is just too wild with his punches, leaves himself too wide open at times. I doubt Pride will be up to sending Vanderlei over to the UFC to face Chuck in November now. He'd have to get his momentum back first. get, some knockout victories so he can look like a viable threat to Chuck in the eyes of Pride.

How many strikers are there of Cro Cop caliber? Maybe 4-5, and they're all in K-1 which is a World Class KickBoxing organization. Chuck would not even be considered a B-Level fighter in K-1. He's nowhere near Cro Cop.

just out of curiousity..... do you consider RAMPAGE a skilled boxing techinician?

ohyeah, RANDLEMAN's wild striking also knocked Mirko out cold. Does that make Randleman a skilled technician?

Wand loses to one of the best HWs and all of sudden Chuck will beat Wand hands down? You've got to be kidding me.

Against a pure puncher, Wand has a much better chance and no doubt Wand can beat Chuck.

for you little kids who think this means Chuck would beat Wandy now you need to learn the fight game.

the thing that threw wandy off from the start of the fight is the Left Kicks to his BODY. those were seriously hurting him. I imagine it's similar to getting hit by a baseball bat in the ribs. That hurt him more than the punch and GnP, and the body kicks are what set up the head kick. Liddell never throws hard body kicks and even if he does it isnt nearly as hard as cro cops. the body kicks were the main difference in this fight, and also in cro cops fight with barnett.

Cro-Cop didn't push his corner away for that reason, his reflexes automatically triggered into take-down defense mode and he started to sprawl....

Wandy does tend to employ the bum-rush - haymaker technique.... This is what lead to Babablu's downfall against Chuckles. If Wandy were to fight Chuck and go in all-balls throwing haymaker bombs, I think Chuck is a skilled enough striker to slip/counter and have enough power to take Wandy out. If Wandy uses his bombs to set up knee strikes al la Rampage victory, I think Wandy could defeat Chuck. He would have to catch Chuck with one o them bombs and the question is will Wandy catch Chuck before Chuck catches Wand? Wandy's style plays to Chuck's strengths. I guess it depend on the gamma rays from the sun the day of the fight....if it ever actually happens.

I have yet to see Wandy throw a straight punch.

Did you notice when they were checking Wandys eye, the Japs were toweling Wandy off, giving him lots of time to recover. I think one was giving him a friggin back-rub fer cryin out loud.
