In Pride, the LW weight limit was 160. It's not a big difference, but the extra cut to 155 may cause issues. Gomi'd still be devastating at 170, but he may stay back east to fight at the weight he's used to. After seeing how other Pride vets have performed so far in the UFC, I'd be hesitant to make the jump.

Hell yeah I want Gomi in the UFC. He's in a lot of dream matches that I want him to be in for the UFC. But before that I want Gomi/Diaz II in Japan with of course Diaz off the lettuce.

Having Gomi in the UFC would be a big time score for both ends. Gomi would receive greater recognition and hopefully greater paydays. Honestly if Im in Dana White's shoes I would put out a good deal of incentive cash in his contract instead of guaranteed money like he did with cro cop but work out a plan that can build up greater interest in Gomi so he can have that mega fight potential and pan out for both ends. For instance perhaps a first bout against a Sam Stout/Nate Diaz or Rich Clementi. Second fight Spencer Fisher/Hermes Franca/Clay Guida then a 3rd fight against a Tyson Griffen/Kenny Florian/Joe Stevenson then see where the title holder is at that point and go from there of course upsets in the 1st,2nd or 3rd matches we have new plan but I think that is a great way for Gomi to get some of what he wants and to get paid and the UFC to get what they want as well.
Can Gomi even make 155? That's a little lighter than he's ever fought at before. Maybe it wouldn't be a problem but he could've been cutting to the max as it was. Granted Sherk makes 155, but he uses steroids.
I'd love to see him fight Kid in K-1. He'd probably be able to make more money in Japan as he's a bigger star there than in the States.
