Sorry but I disagree with you all. Barnett was tested by the NSAC and both samples came up positive for three steriods. The steroids in question were Boldenone,Fluoxymesterone, Nandrolone. These are used when "stacking". Meaning he was using a roid that would build muscle mass(Nandrolone) and then also using a "cutter"(Boldenone) to cut water retention so that he could keep weight down. Now Nandrolone is also known as Deca which can hang around in the body for a year or more. I am sorry but the NSAC does hundreds of urine tests a year. These urine test are as good as any. It is my opinion that he was without a doubt using. I know that I'm going to catch hell for say this but I wouldn't be suprised if he was still using. Once people start using these substances they are hard to get away from not just because of the strengh and recovery aspect the drugs provide but because of the confidence boost/mental edge they give a person. Just giving my opinion. I guess we will find out for sure if he ever fights in the US again because he will for sure be tested. If he doesn't take any fights here in the US with Pride, we will know that he's still a ROIDER!

Thanks for that information. I don't really know what to believe now. I don't want to flame a guy if I'm not absolutely sure he did steroids. I wish I had more documentation on accusations of his steroid use.

I don't believe him. Why would anyone? Just because he is a nice guy?? lol steroids are rife in mma (including UFC - the tests mean nothing)
In Pride it is not even cheating. Of course he uses.
git.

Quite frankly I don't know why they wouldn't be using them in Pride. I mean if they guy you are fighting can use them you may as well too. I personally don't like people the fact that anyone would use roids but I can understand why they would. It sure isn't going to stop me from ordering the Absoulte ppv tonight. It will be well worth the 35 bones. Cannot wait to see these fights tonight. I've been staying away from the computer until now becasue i don't want to know who won anything. As far as the current subject I must say that I don't belive Josh when he said an olympic level test cleared him becuase, I believe those urine test administered by NSAC is probably top notch considering all the boxers and MMA fighters that they test. That and the fact the he tested positive for 3 roids that make up a stacking regime. Just make since but that is just my opinion.

using steroids isn't always an advantage. it doesn't make you a better fighter.

Yes it does by allowing far more training time and at a higher intensity, resulting in a higher skill level and better conditioning. More skill and better conditioning (plus the additional physical benefits) = better fighter.
git.
