Default Lyoto talks about Sokoudjou

In final preparation phase for his bout at UFC 79, at December 29, against the man that nocked out Rogério Minotouro and Ricardo Arona, Thierry Romeau Sokoudjou, Lyoto Machida didn’t went to Rio de Janeiro that time to prepare himself. “We always loose something, but I won others too. I call Carlão Barreto and he sends me Nino Shembri, to work at my ground game, and Daniel (Francês) to work my Muay Thai”, said Lyoto to TATAME. Lyoto talked also about his strategy for this bout. “He could be stronger than me, but I will attack as his weak points. I know that Sokoudjou is a good fighter, but nobody can have that strength stamina from the beginning to the end of the fight, and I believe in what I am doing”, said Lyoto.

looks like lyoto has no desire to stand and bang but rather wear down soko and try and finish the fight in the later rounds

I think Lyoto is clinging to the one unknown about Soko and that's his cardio. I'm willing to bet that training with Team Quest that his cardio won't be a factor but it would be good to see his ground game.

I really think Lyoto wins this fight. He has great striking D and very good stand up. He has had a lot more fights and is great on the ground. I hope whoever wins this fight gets the respect they deserve and a chance to move up in the LHW rankings.

I'm really looking forward to this. Definitely a test for both men and we'll see who's going to climb the LHW division after this match.

I saw Soko wins via vicious KO... and should fight the winner of Chuck/Silva for the title shot.

Close, except that the winner of that little 4-man bracket should fight the winner of Jardine/T. Silva to see who gets the next title shot.

They'd have time and Jardine has the most legitimate bitch right now. Thiago is undefeated just like Lyoto and much more crowd pleasing. If Machida beat Soku and either of the big names then fans might warm to his style (maybe?) but either way he would've proved he deserves it.

If Thiago beats Jardine, he's probably still too green for Rampage but why waste an unbeaten record. And he's from Chute Box isn't he?

And I know Chuck's old but u should have to win AT LEAST 2 in a row to get a shot. (and please don't bring up Randy, they didn't have a better option)

I'm hoping and expecting a decisive TKO from Soko, but I've got this hunch that we'll see another dance-and-dart party from Machida. It'll be interesting, though, to see how Machida handles that ultra-aggressiveness.

Machida will do what he normally does: pick his shots when he sees an opening and backpedal when his opponent comes forward with strikes.

The only way I see Sokou winning his if he catches Machida coming in and drops him. Otherwise, I see Machida playing his game and either overwhelming Sokou in the later rounds when he gasses or winning a decision.
