Because people don't agree with you they are shitdogs? Grow up. That fight did suck, I still have no idea what the hell you are talking about that it didn't suck. If two fighters are standing around for 2 minutes at a time doing nothing, then the fans that paid a bunch of money to see that fight should be allowed to boo. Booing the guy who won just because you don't like him or where he's form, or what he looks like is unacceptable though. |

I do agree though that the Gurgel/Hominick fight wasn't that good it wasn't the worst fight in the world ,but it wasn't that good either.Neither fighter made any real efforts to finish the fight and the fact that Hominick was litterally sprinting from Gurgel makes me angry.When I pay to watch a fight I expect to see a fight not a guy sprinting from someone.Hominick would be looked at as someone who has no heart if ever fought where I'm from.

ya I dont like the running either, im not encouraging it at all! I dont like seeing it but watchin the fight over again, he was caught off balance on some of those runs and stumbling not really sprinting.. it looked like it though but I saw him trip on his feet.. the first one was a sprint though.

I know Gurgel was hurt on tuf, but from what I've seen I haven't been impressed by the guy. So my question is this, if he happens to loose to Abbabbabbi do you think he would just retire?

Ever watch a Pride event? those fans dont even TALK during the fights, I hardly hear them boo either.. im not saying that it should go to those extremes in the UFC.. but Booing is unacceptable.

Here here Afro. I couldn't agree more.
I don't think it's about people making an intellectual decision that they aren't getting their moneys worth, because the crowds boo at the drop of a hat. It's a cultural difference between the West and the East. Why do you think the martial arts, in general, stress respect? Could it be because the martial arts originated in the East? In our country we are battling the tough man, bar/street fighter origins of mma and their drunken companions shouting "bash his head, we want blood." It's one of the reasons mma (not tough man competitions) have had to struggle so much for legitamacy.
God, if you can't understand why booing is desrespectful to those fighters stepping into the cage/ring, then it's unlikely anyone will convince you. Your parents would have had to instill that respect for others in you a long time ago.

I don't think so, he is still a fighter so he will continue to fight but will have to gather some wins in lesser organizations and hopefully be given another chance in UFC.
He has a ton of heart and will go toe-to-toe with world class strikers, he doesn't care. That is why I think Dana put that Hominick fight together, I was expecting a standup was and not expecting Hom to run away, I wish Mcarthy deducted a point from Hom or at least gave him a warning so that we could've seen a standup war. |
