CHRIS HOWIE REPORTING ...

Ultimate Fighter 6 Live Finale Conference Call Notes:

-Roger Huerta says he never worries about his record he just worries about his opponent.

-Huerta says there is no pressure being in the Main Event. Says Clay Guida is a great fighter and this should be a great fight.

-Mac Danzig says he trained for this fight at Xtreme Couture. Says training went great. Danzig also mentions all of the names of the fighters he was training with.

-Danzig says that he was able to learn new things from training on the show but actually being on the show was "strange" and he would never do something like it again.

-Both Huerta and Guida are asked about Sean Sherk coming back and their standing in the UFC. Guida says it was a matter of time before Sherk came back and with a win he'd like a shot. Huerta says after this weekend he will be 6-0 and wants to fight Sherk, "bottom line."

-Mac puts over Tommy Speer and talks about how much he watched Tommy progress on the show.

-Huerta says that his wrestling matches up great with Guida's.

-Guida says he is better conditioned now than in any fight he has ever been in.

-Danzig says he hasn't really changed anything for this fight compared to any other fight.

-Speer says that his training changed a lot. He also went down and trained at Matt Hughes' camp for this fight.

-Hughes says that this was way different than the last time he coached on TUF 2. Basically the same thing he said in an interview previously with MMANews.com that can be found in our archives.

-Spike TV executives say to expect big things from this show even with it going head to head with Ricky Hatton vs. Floyd Mayweather.

-Someone asked Hughes if he had any words for Matt Serra, who will be watching. Hughes replied: "I have no words for Matt Serra."

Huerta is delusional if he's calling out Sherk. From what he has shown so far, he is not ready to neutralize someone with Sherk's wrestling. Not even close.

Guida saying he's in better condition than any of his other fights is scary. He runs hard from bell to bell, it's difficult to imagine many people handling the pace he normally sets. If it's any higher then that's going to be damned hard to keep up with.

Good rundown Howie

I think Huerta needs to mix it up with a few more guys like Thiago Tavares, Tyson Griffin, Frankie Edgar, Spencer Fisher, (obviously Clay Guida) and win before he can worry about Sherk.

When he gets past them, then he is headed towards the level of Sherk and Penn.

I think Huerta is going to have to lose... before he can succeed (by that I mean, lose, make some corrections and improve his game, and fire back).

Huerta has a good streak going, but he needs to develop some more.

It is obvious that I like Huerta.. the guy went through a lot.. and I admire his courage... but him calling out Sherk was like Vera calling out Fedor... it is such a mismatch...

i was a little surprised with Huerta saying he wanted Sherk but he has fought 6 times in a year and a half. He's fought 5 times in 2007 so i think 2008 sees him get a little stiffer comp and why not let him fight Sherk. Past Sherk they havn't really build up any other LW's other than Penn and now Stevenson. Huerta is #4 on the food chain pretty much.

...But Clay Guida is no pushover.
