i know exactly the feelin you are talking about... i dont necesarily have it for this fight but i had it for the GSP Serra fight and the Liddell Rampage fight and the Franklin Silva fight... there is just somehthin unsettling about it... but i think this is going to be a war and i hope/think Fitch will win... maybe perhaps finish him?
hypothetical.. what would happen to Diego if he gets stopped in decisive fashion?

Fitch has been asking for a high profile fighter for a long time. only to be given unknown fighters (off TV) I think he was saying that he was happy to get a guy with name recognition like sanchez.
Fitch was right in saynig that fighters take less risky fight after a loss
(Hughes - Lytle)
(Franklin - MacDonald)
(GSP - Strasser?)(after 1st Hughes fight)
I kind of think that Fitch was trying to give Sanchez a complement for not ducking a top 5 (or so) ww.
But remember that he was sitting at the same table as chuck and Jardine

Diego did really well against Marcelo before getting subbed in the end, much better than most of the worlds best grapplers have done..

This fight could easily go either way. Fitch is confident because Kos beat him and Fitch and Kos are training partners. I'm going with Diego. You don't get a 19-1 record by being a bitch and it was revealed that he tested positive for a staff infection a day after the Kos fight. He thought he had Hep C the day before. I think his physical and mental was screwed up in the Kos fight. They rematch, Kos gets worked.

WOOO!! Never knew this, always wondered who Diego's first lose was too(seen before, but could never find the link again)? UFC always had his career as 17 and 0 on web-site, but before Octagon fights it was always announced by Bruce Buffer as 19-0 (get the point) ... Certain MMA calculator sites had his MMA record as (and I have seen all of these) 19-1, 17-0, 19-0, and 19-1... I never understood this!

Diego lost to Marcelo at Abu Dhabi (submission wrestling) world championships...not in MMA. Diego's first MMA loss was to Josh Koscheck.

Dont sleep on Fitch, he has really good hands and wrestling. As per the statement I would assume he was giving props for taking a top tier(ish) athlete after a loss rather then taking a easy win. I see Fitch controling the fight w/ a good jab and td defense. *** Diego is the better grappler he did good against Marcelo in the ADCC(so well in fact he celebrated the loss still dont get that one). However Fitch should be able to control where the fight goes.

He may be arrogant, but from what you posted, it sounds like he just wants to fight quality opponents.

Fitch wrestled at Purdue and Big Ten wrestling is pretty good. He may have evn been an all-american even. Sanchez wrestled in high school and in New Mexico, not exactly the grappling center of the world. Who knows, Fitch may beat Kos in practice and that is why he is so confident (not arrogant)
