- Royce Gracie, who is currently serving his one-year suspension from the
CSAC for testing positive for steroids in June, is making waves in certain
MMA circles by claiming that he wants to fight in June or July of 2008.
His last fight, booed heavily by the rowdy Live crowd as well as panned by
MMA critics, was against Kazushi Sakuraba. He won via decision.
The following is an excerpt from an article you can fully read here
(includes decent pics of Gracie instructing a class):

" "I'm getting to old for this," he says while laughing. But he keeps busy
with seminars.
His next fight will likely be in June or July of 2008, he says, although
he's not sure whether the fight will be with the UFC or K-1 Pride
fighting."
I have no idea what "K-1 Pride fighting" is, but it's mouthful.
If Gracie does want to fight, which at this time may just be a smoke
screen, don't look for him to ink a deal with the UFC. First of all,
there's no one worth fighting in the UFC for Gracie to make a meaningful
return or meaningful buyrate. Secondly, the UFC was hoping for record
breaking numbers with UFC 60: HUGHES vs. GRACIE, and while the show did
very well, it fell far short of expectations set by Zuffa and Dana White.
A great night of fights, no doubt, but not very well received by the
Pay-Per-View audience at the time. If Hughes vs. Gracie happened today, it
may well have gone down as one of the biggest events in UFC history. It
was designed to bring old school and new school fans together, but it
didn;t work out the way the UFC hoped it would.
Royce Gracie fighting in Japan may well be the best move for him. The
Gracie/Japan feud is still somewhat of a money maker in Japan, and his
tarnished reputation in the US may make him an unsellable fighter by
whatever promotion decides to sign him, if one does.
- Din Thomas, who suffered a very visible, debilitating injury during the
Main Event of last night Ultimate Fight Night, has undergone an MRI and
the early diagnosis is most likely a torn MCL/ACL. Doctors have told
Thomas that whatever it is, he WILL need to undergo surgery. Here's for a
quick recovery for Din.
