Dana overlooking Kang
I know this has been discussed in the Kang/Barnett forum... but I'm just going to talk about Kang here. I have no clue why Dana wouldn't want to sign Kang.
Kang in his last 20 bouts has been nothing short of impressive with his only loss coming to Misaki. This was after he tore his bicep in the earlier match and after his gf killed herself. I have no idea why he's not ranked higher in the MMA weekly rankings for MW as I think he's ahead of Franklin and Lindland.
He is amazing... he's explosive, amazing on the ground and k1 level striking. Plus, there are three other advantages, it gives Silva a way bigger challenge and Kang speaks english well --> Great representative for the MW division. The third advantage is one of the biggest one... he was brought up in Canada... he's another great face alongside GSP to represent Canada when they go to Montreal.

I think the problem might be that people like Dana White just don't have the knowledge that hardcore MMA fans (like us) have on fighters like Kang. Any level-headed promoter in the know would realize that he is a blue chip fighter.

The real problem is that he wants to fight where he wants, namely Spirit. He feels a strong connection with Korea and love fighting there in front of his dad. And as we already know Dana no like sharing his fighters. I mean if the p4p best is having trouble because of the same issue what chance the #2 or #3 middle weight have to broker a favorable deal.

Zuffa, like any other major corporation, does demographic studies to determine who they are marketing their product to. It would appear then that they have determined that most UFC PPV purchasers are not hardcore MMA fans. Therefore they tend to put emphasis on signing big names that are recognizable to the somewhat ignorant fan rather than the more talented, but less recognizable fighters. It's a buisiness decision, but hopefully as the popularity of MMA grows in america, so to will knowledge and recognition of true talent.

very very stupid of dana to say. he would probably beat everybody at ufc mw besides hendo and maybe anderson. i would love to see him against someother top mw that dana is on their balls. as stupid as this is, dana gets away for it from his tito bashing comments.

I think Dana is just covering his ass. Surely the Fertittas wanted to get Kang, but I think it comes down to Denis preferring to fight in Korea and UFC being stingy with his contract.
So Dana wouldn't come out and say "Oh, we wanted him bad but he would rather fight in K1"

I am also confused on why Dana White keeps on overlooking Dennis Kang. The UFC's middleweight division could use a boost in talent and Dennis Kang would be a good addition.
