What about kicks and stomps to the head of a downed opponent |

What about kicks and stomps to the head of a downed opponent
while the attacker is also downed?.. I've seen many times where a heel hook can be avoided or some other submission if you could just kick your opponent in the face while you're on the floor with him. I think they should make this legal when they make knees to the head to a downed opponent legal. I believe there can't be as much force as when the opponent is standing and stomping/soccer kicking

I agree.
Then again i dont think kicks and stomps to a downed opponent should be illegal regardless of the attackers position.

I agree with this. I just dont think the pansies over at NSAC agree.  .. They should atleast throw us a bone with these rules.

It'll take a while before they legalize that :\ The majority of the viewers aren't ready for it and will join the "human cockfighting" crusade (regrettably)

NOW? I dont think so. I know Dana wants knees legal. The UFC is 2 mainstream now 2 be looked at as "human cockfighting" anymore. I think the crowd and objectors are geting educated. Even John McCain doesnt oppose 2 it anymore. Just dont show the critics Silva/Kondo.

After the Gonzaga/Crocop high kick I dont see how knees on the ground can look worse than that in terms of viciousness

You are completely right. I think that the UFC should wait until it is in a few more big states before they do that. I think New York has a ban on MMA events over there(plz correct me if I'm wrong) so adding knee's and stomps to a downed opponent won't be a big help in changing minds over there and to add those things before they get Madison Square Garden would be nuts IMO of course
