UFC Source: Meeting with Fedor Emelianenko "Not Good"
Quote:
Despite conflicting reports, a meeting the UFC had Thursday with Fedor Emelianenko’s was “not good” according to a source within the organization that spoke to UFCjunkie.com (www.ufcjunkie.com) contributor Sam Caplan.
Caplan posted the report on his personal blog, fiveouncesofpain.
A variety of reports today stated the meeting was productive — and even that a tentative deal worth about $2 million per fight had been reached. However, Caplan reports that his source gave no indication that a deal was immenent.
Emelianenko, the PRIDE heavyweight champion and top-ranked Russian fighter, has been in negotiations with the UFC for months.
During Thursday’s UFC 75 media conference call, UFC President Dana White said that if Emelianenko signs with the organization, he could be next in line for a title shot with current champ Randy Couture. White, though, gave no indication that a deal was close, and even joked that the conference call members should “put in a good word” for him.
Emelianenko would bring an unparalleled resume to the UFC. With a near-perfect 26-1 record, he suffered his lone loss in a 2000 RINGS event against Tsuyoshi Kohsaka. The bout was stopped just 17 seconds in because of a cut caused by a glancing elbow from Kohsaka (Emelianenko later avenged the loss in a 2005 PRIDE Bushido event).
Since the loss, it’s been pure domination of some of the sport’s top heavyweight fighters, including a 2005 unanimous-decision win over current UFC fighter Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic.

This is starting to turn into the Pride purchase thing. One day it's a done deal, the next it will never happen. I say just don't worry about it until something is confirmed. When and where he is going to fight will be confirmed by him or the organization in due time.

I agree. Give Fedor his money, AND let him fight Sambo.

I'm losing hope quickly. I don't see the UFC signing Fedor if he continues all of his requests. You'll get no argument from me he's the top hw in the world right now, but some of his expectations are quite lofty. #1 He still wants to compete in sambo matches in Russia (UFC can't be too keen on a possible injury there), #2 He wants to cart over some fighters from his camp to the UFC (Does anyone ever tell Dana what to do without him doing the opposite?), and #3 For God's sake they're offering him 2 mill a fight and he still won't take it? (That's just on paper too! Factor in the promotions, ppv %, endorsements etc... money apparently isn't the hold up.) Comments? Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I feel it. There is a wealth of talent out there just waiting to put on a good show. Rankings are second place in my book if the fight is not entertaining... ie Tim Sylvia

FUCK FEDOR I AM SO SICK OF THIS BULLSHIT.....I am sick of hearing about him, is he coming or is he not....I really at this point could care less if he went to the WWE. Just sign the contract you money hungry prick. I was a fan of his, i am quickly losing respect for him and his manager. Say what you want about him in the sense he is waiting for the best deal. Fuck him, he has had offers given to him that were remarkable. This guy is really getting on my nerves. I am really thinking now he is afraid to tarnish is record by going to the UFC i am left with nothing else. It the world of MMA your either in UFC to fight the best fighters or your not....Fedor go piss up a pole you scab....................On another note, How is everyone doing today.
