Cotto Vs Mosley "street fight"
I just saw an advertisement on TV for the Cotto Vs Mosley fight. I don't remember the exact quote but they described the fight like this: "bringing the street fight into the ring".
A bit of hypocracy for boxing to promote a fight as a "street fight" when that is the term used often times to put down MMA. I think Boxing is losing its grip on the phrase "Sweet Science". Maybe Dana White could buy the rights to that saying...that would really piss the boxing people off.
Comming soon: UFC 81 Sweet Science

LMAO!
That would be hilarious!
I'm personally not a fan of baxing at all. I respect MOST boxers for being so dedicated to training and for simply having the guts to get into a ring and make your living as a fighter but I really have no interest in boxing.
I definitely beleive MMA is closer to a "sweet science" then boxing is simply because so much more goes into an MMA fight. More techniques, various strikes, and even something as simple as your stance can affect whether or not you could be laying on your back before you know it.
I think a lot more thought and "science" goes into MMA.

Well how scientific is it when Leon Spinks and other idiots who can't spell their names can do it.
Look at old footage of Jack Johnson very little technique if any.
Boxers used to box with their fits curled up and their hands low.
The boxing we see today is nothing like it was even in the 50's, its been the the past 40 years that boxing has become so technical.
Its taken boxing more a century to become a science, where MMA has evolved much quicker because it incorporates to many fighting skills.
It takes much more to learn MMA than boxing, more skill is involved, MMA is the 'The Sweetest Science'

Boxing has been around for so long, they can get away with it all. Boxing IMO is boring besides some WNF/FNF fights with hungry up and comers and the occasional big name fight that isn't hyped out of the realm of it's potential.
