Tim Sylvia trains with xtreme Couture
Credit To:xtreme couture.com
Big Tim Sylvia spent the past two days training at Xtreme Couture. Turns out Tim is somewhat of a fashion plate. He’s been in town for the Magic Show (where new clothing lines are debuted for buyers). Tim’s got some cool shirts coming out this Fall.
He’s also good buddies with Mike Whitehead and spent the past two days training with our Pro Team. Tim’s next fight is against Brandon Vera at UFC 77 on October 20th.
Note: Time Sylvia has not left MFS

Sylvia needs a new camp
I think that Sylvia needs a new camp. He's too big to be so damn terrible. I don't think MFS is the place to be right now anyway..do they even train there anymore??? It's probably like a fighter hangout in there with a little horse playing lol

Yeah, and hopefully the rumors of Matt Hughes changing up camps is going to pan out as well. Although I've never liked Tim Sylvia, I think that he can become a more productive and win producing fighter if he were to mix up his training regimen. Perhaps training under Randy isn't a bad idea at all, considering he was beaten by him.

Tim Sylvia may be big, but he isnt that great of an athlete. I remember watching some stuff of his training, and you could just see that his feet were slow and his coordination wasnt very good. I've seen a lot of people do some of those exact same drills in basketball, and could very quickly see that the guy just wasnt all that in terms of his coordination since I've seen lots of big men who can do this stuff a lot better.
I just think that with that kind of obstacle that hes ever going to be much better than he is. When you arent necessarily the quickest guy, you have to go to a fundamentally sound, very technical style where you are trying to beat quickness with technique and size. This is exactly what Sylvia does, and hes pretty good at that aspect of the game already.
Lately a lot of people seem to be thinking that if so and so just changes camps or whatever, he will suddenly become a lot better. I understand the point of view that a change every once in a while is a good thing, but I really dont think that just changing camps is some kind of magic solution that will suddenly have large returns.

It was like a month or so after his loss to Couture. I think it was may '07?
I hope Tim comes back and starts bangin' like he is known for. Stop the dancing and forcing a win by wasting time. He needs to be more aggressive and I don't know if that's a confidence thing or what. Damn it, you are 6'8, 265 and you are hesitant about hitting someone?

The Vera fight should tell alot about where Timmy's at and if he can find the fire to start blasting people out again. I have my doubts, though Vera calling him for so long may be what he needs.

If Timmy fought now like he did when he was roiding, there wouldn't be so much timmy hate. The guy needs to find his aggressive side.
