Default Diaz Brothers

With both Diaz brothers fighting soon the question should be raised, when their careers are all done which will be known as a better fighter? Or will their inability to control their actions hamper both of their, potentially great, careers? Personally I think that Nick is the more talented fighter and if he gets his head on straight he could be one of the most dominate fighters in the world at his division. Nate is a hot head who seems to follow his brothers lead too much. Personally I think that in the end Nick will be the better fighter, but neither will reach their full potential.

interesting analysis. i think presently that nick is also at a higher level; he's obviously faced better competition and is more experienced at this point. it seems to me though that nate is more emotional when he fights though. maybe it's just the fighters that nick has faced, but nick seems a bit like a survivor, while nate pushes it. both have big futures though, they're young so...

Obviously i don't know these two personally, but I do agree Nick is at a higher level. Substantially higer. But Nate is no slouch by any means.

A lot of times in cases like this guys like Nate become exceptional fighters because they're constantly trying to be better than their sibling who's at a high level. After awhile the tides change and Nate could easily become the better of the two. If they can manage to use each other to push themselves it'll do nothing but improve them both.

The problem, which is mentioned, is the attitude. I don't think Nate has any worse of an attitude than Nick, but whatever the case they are going to have problems because both of them have shitty attitudes. One of the interesting things in the near future will be to see how they deal with it. We all know that guys getting really famous like this tend to get a LOT of shit thrown at them from haters and fans alike. How they deal with it could really influence how the second half of their career goes.

It's really too early to make bets, that's for sure. My guess is one of them will probably have legal problems sooner or later due to the shitty attitude. I can't really be pissed about that tude because that's also what's in their nature to be fierce fighters. Everyone has different motivation but it sure seems like both of theirs is anger.

I hope they can keep their shit together and really excell, but their future is 100% in their own hands, and in the end they'll be either to blame or praise for what happens.

So all that? basically means: I don't know.

Nick Diaz is an animal, no doubt ... Seeing him knock out Robbie was SUPER impressive.
Not sure if Nate can get there.. but hey, he's young and people fight into the 30's and 40's nowadays!!

Side topic:
Which brothers would you rather see fight (assuming they were in similar weight classes)
  • Nick vs. Nate
or
  • Fedor vs. Aleksander

I dont think there is anything special about either of them to be honest. People can bring up Nick beating Gomi as much as they want but there is no way that Nick is a better fighter then Gomi

hmm good question but Im going too go off the board and say Matt Hughes vs Mark Hughes just for comedy sake. Can you imagine the pure hilarity, also I've always wanted too see twins beat the hell out of each other and if you put em both in black trunks and give Mark a loaded glove who knows what could happen!

All I gotta say is Nick Diaz was robbed after the Gomi fight, and he won fair and square, and Gomi gets wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much credit. Diaz is an awesome lightweight. I wanna see Nick in the UFC at 155, he would take and hold that belt for so long. I don't see Spencer Fisher, Hermes Franca, Sean Sherk or anyone at 155 beatin' him. Well...maybe B.J.
