Guess who k1 just signed...Sergei!
Google Translation.
Sergei Kharitonov has signed a contract with K-1
Sergey Kharitonov signed contract with the boytsovskoy league K -1. Sergey will fight at the tournaments by the mixed style Heros, and in the future and at tournaments K -1. Kharitonov's return to the ring, possibly already during September.

That september card is turning to be really really sick!

Damn Heros is making some serious ground very quickly, I wonder if he'll be available for that september card, it will be pretty unmissable if he is, Overeem/Sergei, Aleks(maybe)/Sergei 2, Sergei/Mo, who knows.

who knew how much Zuffa buying PRIDE would help K-1?
if this card gets put together as rumored then its card of the year (on paper)

If Sergei fights on Sept. 17th I wouldn't be surprised if it is against Overeem or Aleks Emelianenko.
I've been championing HERO'S on this forum for a while now so yeah, this is just another solid signing by FEG. Clearly they are targeting top European and Japanese MMA fighters, not only for HERO'S bouts but also to use as feature MMA bouts in their K-1 shows. They had huge success with that K-1 card in Amsterdam this year, Yvel and Overeem were both on it and it reportedly sold about 25,000 tickets.

It is interesting the contrast of the 2 orgs:
UFC is going for saturation of the market, by putting together great cards now in masse every month or 2.
Heros is going for high points, by putting together flashy cards with great fights every 3-4 months.
K-1 is going for a bit more quality than quantity.

as I expected you come to the UFC's rescue :grinsmile26:
UFC 76 is a damn good card but Chuck vs Jardine main event? the two biggest matches on that card are feedings. Besides the two co main events the card is amazing, but this has nearly almost every inactive PRIDE fighter rumored to be on it, plus 3 top 10 lightweights, and Marcelo Garcia's debut (all rumored of course, while UFC 76 is actually officiall)

Couldnt agree more, UFC has had a better year then K-1 but so far the superbowl of MMA is yet to take place in their org
