Wandy's first fight
I am extremely excited about Wandy fighting in December but I guess the question is against who. My opinion is maybe the winner of Bablu vs Heath. What do you all think? They gave Rampage a tuneup fight, they are giving Shogun the same thing(yes Forrest is a tuneup), so I think that they will give Wand the same thing. What do you all think? It would be a mistake to put him in a fight he could lose in his first fight back.

Yeah they'll probably put him in their against someone he has at least 3-1 odds on just to be safe. You don't want to bring one of the most well-known mixed martial artists into a loss on their USA debut.

I think it would be more of a mistake giving him and easy fight in his return, you need a guy that can give and take a few punches
Someone like Bonner would be good, Babalu would take it to the ground relatively quickly and the UFC won't like that match too much, Jardine and Lambert come to mind as decent opponents too

I think the UFC wants him to fight Chuck in December if he gets past Jardine. It'll be the big end of the year event. The "dream" match with Chuck and Wandy, and then Hughes/Serra, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Fedor to debut as well and fight for the title. Believe me, it'll be the biggest card of the year.

He said in an earlier interview that he was fighting Chuck in December.

Normally I would agree with you, but Wandy has been knocked out in vicious fashion in his last two fights. This is one time a guy needs an easy fight IMO. Plus if he comes in and kicks the shit out of Elvis Sinosec it would be pretty entertaining.

i know what you mean, but Wandy isn't a fighter that needs to fight a can to get his confidence up. Just because he's got KO'd in his last 2 doesn't mean shit. It was against CC and a VERY much improved Hendo
I think even if they gave him Chuck in his first fight, he'd win, but the UFC needs to get Wandy's name out there before they'll make him headline an event
Bottom line is: the "old" Silva hasn't changed, only his record has
