UFC in Japan: What would be the most Marketable Card considering both USA and Japan?

What would you consider to be the most marketable card with the most marketable fighters to go back to Japan with. Consider both markets in the matter of interest and Excitement but most importantly making Money.lol.

What card do you see getting the most PPV buys.



*I don't want a Super Bowl type card, I want a legit card that could have the possibility of going down for the UFC's return to Japan. Consider you can't use every superstar because the next few shows would suffer.

Wandy Vs. Rampage

Josh Barnett.

use a Japan show to feature Japanese fighters, particularly the stars.
if the UFC wanted to sell a card in Japan, they need: Kid, Gomi, Caol Uno, Mach. even if those 4 dont fight each other, the presence of all 4 in one card is pretty much instant sales. unfortunately, these 4 are probably the highest paid fighters in Japan, so they would not come cheap.

the remaining fighters on the undercard: Okami, Nakamura (im glad they got him), Hironaka, KTaro, etc.

Headline needs to be a big fight though, for legit fans as well as the fact that Japanese fans also prefer to see events headlined by the heavier fighters.
if Wanderlei beats Chuck and gets a title shot, having him fight for it in Japan would be quite cool.

I think that all you would have to do is combine fighters that the Japanese fans are familiar with (former PRIDE fighters basically) and then you can put them up against anybody. I don't think you'd have to go crazy with too many big names, as long as the main event is stellar. How about a LHW title match? Rampage gets a rematch with Shogun or Wandy, or Henderson fights Shogun or rematch with Wandy. Then the other headliner could be Nog or Cro Cop vs. Arlovski or Vera, or maybe even a Nog/Cro Cop rematch. Another fight could be between Sakurai and a top LW contender to fill out the card. Possibly Herring vs. Sylvia, or pretty much any fights from a normal UFC card would work as long as the main event fighters are known in Japan. It's hard to say, too many options.

But would that mean US PPV sales? How known are those guys to the Casual fans that buy one the PPV's that catch there eye?

Imo they dont need guys like Gomi or kid because the Japanese love Mirko, rampage, heath, mach, shogun wandy ect.

the rest of the card doesnt need to be anything different becuase unlike american fans the japanese know who the hell these guys are

I like the idea of a title fight with a Japanese opponent, that is a good selling point.

Wanderlei, Cro Cop, Mach, Nak, Yoshida, Couture, Rampage and Shogun are all adored by Japanese fans.

Any combination of some of those names would sell very well IMO.
