Other useful Marial Art disciplines?
Just wondering, can people name a combination of other disciplines besides BJJ, Wrestling, Muay Thai and Boxing, that may be just as practical in MMA?

Not a combination per se, but sambo seems to me to be the best foundation if you really want to learn a complete MMA game. It combines, throws, takedowns, strikes, and submission wrestling, so it seems like a good place to start.

Shootboxing is just as good as Muay Thai or Sanda (Cung Le's style), just no elbows, im sure there will be more good Shootboxers in mma in time.
Mach was a Shootboxer.

That's true. Seems to be the most complete though, anything else combined that would make someone a complete fighter?

i dont know about combinations but i think taekwondo is really one of the best stand-up styles for mma. call me biased because i hold a blackbelt in tkd and was at a very high level but to me its the best standup style period. you learn great footwork and movement, good defense, great kicking like cro-cop per say. and also u get really fast hands and clean crisp strong punches, and u also get flexibility. lol

Combat Sambo basically is MMA, it is a Russia hybrid of many styles including: Judo, Boxing, Wrestling and Submissions.
Sport Sambo does not include strikes and mostly only allows leg locks. You can win by total victory which includes throwing your oppoenent and remaining on your feet or submission.
You would have to combine BJJ, Judo and Wrestling to get Sport Sambo. Although I think BJJ is more vast with submissions on the ground, Sambo also includes standing submissions.

if i was to train mma my styles would be:
taekwondo, freestyle wrestling, bjj... boxing on the side to imrpove hands more..
as well as weight training
and work on elbows, not a specific style really but elbows are great to use.
this way u have good wrestling, bjj, hands, feet, flexible, strong, good movement, defense, offense.. basically everything u need to be a good fighter

Even Joe Rogan (very high level TKD guy) has said that most of TKD isnt particularily useful in MMA. I think that things like the spinning backkick work, but for most of the standup, MT or even Karate is going to do better.

i disagree but again cause ive trained tkd for so many years maybe thats why.
tkd is about fancy kicks for some part but u dont really use those in mma true. but u do use alot of kicks in mma.
like: spnning back kick sometimes, front kick, leg kick, body kick, head kick,
but the biggest thing that tkd did for me was my flexiblity and movement and defense. 3 things which imo are extremly important in mma.
im 5'7 165lbs and i have huge legs like tyson griffin. beleive me when someone has huge legs and they work kicking into their standup they can destroy the opponent. cro cop is a perfect example. taekwondo is so much about ur legs that in a few years ur gonna have huge ass legs and any kick u deliver to an opponent is gonna be devastating. if tyson griffin works on his leg kicks [ he has monster legs ] he could absolutly destroy ppl on the feet imo.
ok ok thats my last post i wont keep talking about how great tkd is lol
edit: oh it also really matter who your trainer is for tkd. my old master was 2x world champion, i trained with olympic canadian team and also my coach in waterloo wasnt that great himself but he was a good teacher and their was great fighers at my camp [my old tkd partner is 2x national champion]. so when it comes to tkd u gotta make sure u have a good teacher to learn eveyrthing properly
