IMO you can execute intelligent business practices, without sacraficing the level of competitiveness too much.

I'm with you, you don't want Bisping getting smashed by a guy that most UFC fans haven't heard of, in the UK no less.
To me Soko should have asked for a contract where if he smashes whatever 2 nobodies he gets, then he gets a bigger name like Tito or such.

I agree the UFC isn't going to put in Bisping or Shogun with him first thing, but c'mon, where else is he gonna go to fight "somebodies?"
I don't think there is any other org that can give Sokou more than one "name" fight, if even one.

Great point!!

Its a nice thought but the UFC would never guarantee him something like that. I agree that pitting Sokoudjou against Bisping would be bad business, but thats a reflection of the UFC's fictitious portrayal of who the top fighters are.

I don't know about that. Hero's has Overeem, Manhoef and Akiyama, among others. And Sokoudjou is a huge guy for 205lbs, I could see him stepping up to HW if he wants bigger challenges.

But none of those guys are "somebodies."

Fedor's standup sucks?
OK Soko, keep telling yourself that after being downed with a left hook and pounded out.
Sounds to me like the guy's just being somewhat greedy. I agree, he had two spectacular wins over top guys, and nothing leads me to believe that those were flukes; but if he makes the move to a U.S. market, he needs to fight at least one can, then one mid-level guy.
Shit, give him Bill Mahood, I don't care. Then set him up against Forrest, Jardine, or Alexander, THEN we'll talk about some top 5 opponents.
"Looks like I'll never be in the UFC."
He's got sick talent, but motherfucker needs to get down off his high horse.

Yeah...I like him, but I almost wish they'd put him in with Shogun immediately just so he can get humbled once.
