UFC Headed to Las Vegas Twice in December
UFC Headed to Las Vegas Twice in December
Posted by UFC Junkie on July 25, 2007 at 10:00 am ET
The UFC is heading to Las Vegas for December’s finale to The Ultimate Fighter 6 and for its annual year-end pay-per-view show.
The Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale will take place Dec. 8 at The Palms Las Vegas, and UFC 79 will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on Dec. 29, according to the July 31 meeting agenda posted by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Zuffa LLC (the UFC’s parent company) will officially request the event dates at the NSAC meeting.
The Ultimate Fighter 6 debuts Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 11 p.m. on Spike TV. After the season debut, which follows a UFC Fight Night 11 broadcast, the series will air on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. As in seasons’ past, the season finale will be a major live event that airs on Spike TV. In this case, The Palms Las Vegas will play host on Dec. 8.
(For the latest list of cast members, who will be coached by UFC welterweight champion Matt Serra and former champ Matt Hughes, check out the UFC Rumors section of UFCjunkie.com.)
UFC 79 will take place Dec. 29 and is expected to feature a main-event championship bout between Serra and Hughes.
The UFC traditionally stocks its year-end fight card with some of the year’s best matchups. UFCjunkie.com has learned from insiders that a Chuck Liddell vs. Wanderlei Silva fight is being considered for the event, though the bout is far from confirmed.

If this card is:
Hughes / Serra
Wand / Chuck
Fedor / Randy
then I don't care if the rest of the card is 10 year old girls slap fighting I will pay whatever it costs.

Yep, All my friends who are the casual MMA fan want to see this fight! Wandy/Chuck, Fedor/Randy... Hughes/Serra I can careless about, but just those 2 fights are worth the price of admission. It looks like I'll be making the 4 hour drive from LA to Vegas then. Boo Hoo. Any true MMA fan is gonna be there, jesus I can only imagine what these tickets are going to be going for....

Would be a great card minus Hughes Serra who gives a shit about that one. Personally, I think AS SOON as Serra raised the belt, someone shoulda ran in and sucker punched him and took the belt, thats how much he deserves it. Anyways Fedor vs. Randy would seem like only a dream matchup. I think it would be a bad way for Randy to end his career, but atleast its against the best. But Dana has said before he wanted to do a superbowl type end of the year show with pride vs. UFC, maybe thats how he could do it. Lets not forget to put the Cop and Big Nog on it too

considering how much people gave a shit about penn vs pulver (which was a less competitive fight that didnt affect the mma world half as much) then Id say that this could be one of the biggest hyped fights ever. Trust me..... after the UFC hypes the shit out of the rivalry on TUF, plays countdown to UFC 79 on spike, and has them talk shit to each other on the season finale you are going to give a shit about who wins the fight
