False Rumor: Vera vs Arlovski @ UFC 77 *** confirmed false by AA's management

There are rumors floating around the UG and Sherdog that Brandon Vera is going to be fighting Andre Arlovski at UFC 77.

While it may be total bullshit, it would make sense because Vera has said that he wants to fight around September and Arlovski hasn't fought in a while either.*

And considering the fact that there really won't be anyone else for either of them to fight in the HW it makes sense to me that they would be matched up against one another.

*One hitch though is that Vera has also said that he wants to fight 2x this year; if he fights in Oct. that might be too fast of a turn around. But Hughes did it against GSP so who knows.

I dunno I really wanna see the fight but on the other hand it would really be asking alot for Vera too make his big step up in comp coming off of such a long layoff. I think AA takes this decisively, Sylvia is the better choice for Vera if they are trying too build him up.

I like Vera's chances against Arlovski better than his chances against Sylvia. I mean at least with Arlovski's questionable chin, he has a punchers chance.

omfg this would be sweet, but at the same time down want to see eaither of them lose. vera is very talented and could go far at hw but needs to drop down to lhw cause he would go further there. very hard to call but id have to go with aa. if i remember correctly, killer you arent such a big fan of aa now are you?

I don't really have any problems with Arlovski. I mean I'm not a big fan of his, but I don't really dislike the guy either. All and all I think some his fights were pretty enjoyable, but I do think he's slightly over rated. The fighters that I really don't like are Tito Ortiz, Rich Franklin, Rashad Evans, and a few others.

lol i remember pre ufc 59 i bought into the ufc hype train and was brainwashed into thinking that he was like the best hw ever. he was def overrated then but now is actually kinda underrated.

i dunno, I just think AA has an advantage over Vera on the feet and the ground whereas I think Vera can hang with Tim on the feet and has the advantage on the ground. Either fight would be a tough way too come off the layoff, they should give him McCully then a big fight.

agree, vera would beat sylvia but not aa. but both would be tough fights especially for not fighting in a while.

dont think that vera could beat giant sylvia though.
