American Sports University is offering a mixed martial arts based scholarship to 15 (up to 21) young men so that they can train and compete regularly while attending school here at ASU to get their bachelors degree in a sports related field such as Sports Management, Sports Marketing, Fitness & Training, Sports Health and a few other degrees. The student will be attending school here while getting a big chunk of his tuition paid for by being an active member of ASU’s MMA team. I've heard of something similar before. Chris Brennan said in an interview that he went to some sort of a Jiu-Jitsu college and said that he spent more there than he would if he had attended USC for 4 years.

Interesting stuff.

How did he end up spending more do you reckon?
I mean most of my current costs come from training or by products of training.
Maybe he had too much spare change and went out partying too often .
Thanks for changing the name I was going to ask someone to do that lol.

Lol, I doubt it. From what I understood of the interview he spent more attending the JJ university than he would have at USC because of the cost of attending. He described it as being very expensive, though he didn't get into any great detail about why it was so.

I have friends who attended ASU for taekwondo. Both are Past US national team members. They both love it there, and i dont think cost was is even CLOSE to USC.

Ah I see, but then it does state that you have your tuition paid for in part by being a part of the team so that leads me to think it will be cheaper.
Remember I live in the UK so I don't really know the costs of attending an American uni, we just hear (more than likely mainly made up) stories about it.
Oh and we get all the crappy programs

That's good to hear, I'm considering makin initial enquiries about it and if it looks promising applying for it after seeing how this year goes at uni here in england. It would cost me a lot more but I think ultimately to be anywhere in MMA you need to be in America atm anyway.
So hey if I get in expect to hear a lot of updates from me lol.
