hughes is one of my favorites but i think his size just doesnt work out well for the mw division imo.i wouldnt mind seeing rich move up to lhw and fight there again would be interesting

ya he will go up for another title shot for sure but he can barely hang in what the welterweght division is today and spider is way to dangerous for him in any aspect of the game

Interesting...He knows MW is weak..and he knows Silvas kryptonite is takedown defense....

Could be a big fight if he beats Serra and Silva beats Rich. I guess we will have to wait and see...But very interensting...

I don't know, It's easy to look past Matt due to the GSP loss. I think the Spider would win, but I wouldn't put it past Matt to squeak out a decision over Anderson.

One solid loss and people just write Matt off.

I guess we should write off GSP...and Rich Franklin...and CroCop...

And basically everyone but Fedor.

Matt might come off as arrogant at time..but what MMA fighter doesn't? He took GSP lightly after beating him once...and he paid the price.

Does this mean the guy will never be on top again?

What happens when some beats A. Silva? Will he suck at that point?

Look at Randy..came back from losing to Chuck twice to become HW champ.

What makes a champion is not what he does while on top..it's what he does when he hits bottom. If Hughes continues to take opponents lightly, I'll be first on the "Matt sucks" bandwagon. Until then, I stand behind guys like Matt, Rich and CC too.

i think hughes would lose by ko to anderson. but i think he will be able to take over ww again. i think he can beat gsp again, and i think he is gonna beat serra. im not sure about bj, that would be another war.

UFC MW division is by far their weakest division, other than Anderson, the other top 3 MW's in the world are fighting in other promotions: Filho, Lindlanf and Kang.

But in order for Hughes to become champion at MW, it would take someone else defeating Anderson IMO because Hughes cannot setup his shots very well and Anderson's range would be very hard to deal with due to his pin point accuracy and power.

Even if he gets the fihgt to the ground, it woudl be very difficult to do anythign there, Marquardt has an excellent ground game and is incredibly strong like Hughes and he was unable to pass guard or do anything on the ground.

If Hughes could get Anderson in side control, I think he would be effective but I am not sure if HUghes would be able to accomplish that feat.
